    Private Broken [Private/Ravana]

Post by Chrono 29th June 2016, 12:08 am

Though the child of a figurative god and goddess of Desierto had lived for over four millennia to this day, since his allegiance to Infinity Hydra, it appeared a lot about him had changed. However, until this day, never had this same human thought about how his life has changed. "I never used to argue..." Chrono thought in his head, "I always kept a straight face, never letting the public know how I feel. I never let emotion get the best of me, but since then..." Chrono devoted this day to wondering just exactly who he had become? Had he lost who he was meant to be? Was this supposed to be his destined image? Would it be best that Chrono avert back to his regular self? Even a mirror nearby revealed a mirage, allowing Chrono to recall how exactly he used to be.

"Children, adolescents, and mature adults alike; all of them desire my attention now." Chrono unintentionally thought aloud, "I am wanted by the public for good deeds. Everyone reveals to me how much I have changed..." At this point, other people at the bar gave strange looks at the boy. Mind you, never did the tone of Chrono's voice reveal whining, fear, or any sign of instability because he wasn't doing this. Instead, Chrono was just wondering whether or not this person he had become was a mark of destiny, a miracle, or a new uprising. "Are you alright, kiddo?" The bartender asked. Oh right, a bartender. Chrono was so focused on who he was that he forgot where he was. Well, if you're wondering now, Chrono came here because it was a place unaffiliated with the legal nor dark side of Fiore. He needed a nice drink, but not close to anything that'd make him think about change too much. Albeit, so many thoughts on the topic generated beyond his control anyway.

"Yo, my man!" A geezer at the bar called out to Chrono as he approached him, "You seem to be deep in thought! Anything you'd like to discuss?" This civilian was pitiful. His alcohol breath was clear as crystal, while one could certainly question whether this guy's personality resembled a drunk or normal human being. "My man...if there's..." A definitely drunken geezer intruded, "...If there's anything you'd like to discuss, let's hear it. We..can..always help...a brother...ou--" The moment this second 'my man' person was about to end his suggestive statement, he collapsed and lost consciousness. You could see from his table that he had purchased six beers, whereas the first lad had ordered the same, but was only three drinks down, in comparison.

Oh dear! Chrono was in trouble, wasn't he? He hadn't even ordered a drink, yet even the bartender was concerned about the number of people here dropping like flies because of their silly decisions with alcohol. This reminded Chrono of one of his unchanged qualities. Chrono always believed some socializing could get anyone through tough moments, though he had nobody to talk to. The bartender was putting drinks in cabinets so more wouldn't see opportune moments to get tipsy, while security was clearing out those who had made poor choices. Chrono was beginning to regret coming here, seeing as he had no choice but to wait for everything to be cleaned up. His instincts were still telling him to stay in Talonia, though he supposed if its famous bar couldn't do anything significant for his purpose coming here, that he had no choice to head home. For now, he just went back to that old straight face, a shoulder on the counter, body turned towards the unconscious drunk folks, watching over the poor scenery hoping for better.

She was starting to get a feel for this place. Talonia, a heart and soul of the region, known as a trade market for those that come and go, be they wizard or not. There was money to be made here, in all sorts of forms that is; But Ravana did not come here to make money, she came here looking for an individual in particular. A face she would not recognize, nor a name she could say. This soul she so passionately searched for was someone that she would hold dear; someone special enough to give her life for.

She thought over the words of her past, the teachings that were ingrained into her body, and the path she desperately followed unwillingly. She thought about life, and what she would give up upon finding the one she would protect. Happiness? Could it be found on the journey she walked?

The flame haired woman pulled at the edges of the ceramic glass, leading it to her full lips where she took in the warm liquid. It was nice to be able to sit and drink her doubts away, the doubt of success, and the thought of walking away from her preordained destiny. She couldn’t let her family down…. That would mean certain death and the inability to return home.
A loud voice to her right got the woman’s attention and she raised an eyebrow in her confusion.

    “Hm?”

Looking over her shoulder, she eyed a younger looking gentlemen with dark auburn hair. His solemn face was a particular interest as he was addressed by a clearly over intoxicated individual. It was but a split moment of conversation before the man too passed out from booze. How odd that it was so sudden…. That young man had nothing to do with it, that she could see, but either way she still eyed him as he remained.

After the drunk individuals were carried out she scoffed and glanced at the young man. ‘Is he even old enough to be in here?’ she thought as she took in his appearance, lingering slightly on the tattoo on his forehead. He was an interesting individual to say the least.

Ravana smiled politely before addressing the solemn young man. “First day in Talonia? That kind of thing happens all the time.” She said referring to the two men that needed to be dragged out by their ankles. That was the truth, and this bar in particular had an excellent draft. She smirked before returning to her sake, and shifting in her seat.

Ravana was wearing her normal red and black plate armor, and had her sword Ashrune in its sheath strapped across her back. She didn’t appear to be the norm in the slightest as she looked more like a warrior in a book with her long red hair draped over her shoulders like a red fiery mane.

The bar became much quieter as the drunks were taken away, their awful alcoholic breath fading away as they vanished out the door. The security was miserable, along with the cleaning staff who had to deal with all of these unnecessary quantities of beer bottles. Chrono was about to take a step out of his seat, he heard a voice. This voice was unlike the others. It had a nice, sober flow to it, and was certainly different from the "my man" lads that had just been escorted out of the bar. Chrono looked over and noticed a female approaching him. Surely, this was the voice he had heard, which relieved the lad in the sense that he still had company. "It is." Chrono replied accordingly. From what he could gather of this lady, she definitely hadn't seen him for just a second considering her questioning. Well, it wasn't like there was anything wrong with this. In fact, it made Chrono glad that someone normal at least was observing him, and more respectful of his business than the rest. "Normally, I'd have no reason to be here, but since some recent events, I do." Chrono didn't have to mention all of this, but because the woman had stepped out of her way to talk to him, Chrono didn't mind sharing a story.

The female had red hair, which reminded Chrono of his own, auburn hair. It reminded him of his homeland, Desierto, where Chrono had also experienced change, but not like this stage in his life. Albeit, he was intrigued by the attire before his eyes. The girl looked battle-ready, but in Talonia? Well, Chrono was in no real position to talk, was he? No matter where he was, Chrono always dressed like he was from the desert - which of course was factual. "Pardon my manners. I'm Chrono." He greeted, "And you are?" A hand was extended for this fiery red-head to shake if she so desired; a hand that you'd have to pay Chrono to touch any drunk here. Perhaps this was a sign that something worthwhile could still arise from this trip? Only time would tell.

Even though the young male had seemed distant, he still actively partook in introducing himsel; a sign that their meeting could truly be interesting and bear some fruit in the end. Ravana smiled slightly and took his extended hand, griping it softly while a quirk exert of a shake was preformed. Her voice was not overbearing loud, but she enunciated properly enough to where her soft speech could be heard easily, without disturbing what entities remained around them.

"My name is Ravana, It's a pleasure to meet your acquaintance."

Her eyes gave a quick glance around the room, and surely, no one else aimed to bother the young man. It was no surprise that he attracted attention; much like herself, he dressed different and had a distracting hair color, one that was similar in shade to her's as well.
Ravana faced front to slide the man a porcelain cup and the ceramic bottle of sake.
"Well since you are here, care to drink with me?" She asked frivolously before ordering another bottle just in case. She was not aware what kind of endurance the young lad had.

"What brings you to Talonia then?" She asked making the assumption that he was not from here. It would make sense, he was obviously dressed foreign. There was little doubt that he was from elsewhere. She was not the best, but was decent at reading people.

The woman thought about her own reason, and where she could possibly head next. She felt an urge to head east, but she had to look at a map to plan out where.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, as well." Chrono replied. He could never let that feeling go, you know? Her flow of magic, personality and appearance; none of these were similar to anyone else. This woman was in an entirely different league, but not at all in a negative sense. No. Chrono enjoyed having someone like Ravana here with him - he had never met anyone like her before. Then again, she had sake, proving she liked to at least keep things cool in various environments; liquor in a bar, of course. Moreover, this sake didn't just seem to be for her; it had been offered to Chrono too. He thought for a moment, wondering how long it had been since he had last put some alcohol in his system. Ah, yes, his debut to Infinity Hydra. At that time, Chrono had consumed some whiskey, though the man never really tested how much he could drink without losing himself that day. As a matter of fact, he was always pessimistic about drinking. He always considered himself lightweight until proven otherwise. Between his day of birth and his debut to Infinity Hydra, Chrono could never recall how tolerant he was to this stuff.

"Don't mind if I do." Chrono accepted, his hand slowly released from Ravana's grasp. He arranged himself to pour a glass of sake, then took a sip of it just to test it. "You have good taste." Chrono complimented, "It's been a long time since I've last visited a bar, let alone had a drink like this." Well, that wasn't entirely true. Chrono's perception of time was much longer than reality spoke. A day could feel like two to him; a week like a month; a month to a year - it was a rather bizarre part of Chrono's personality. There was so much Chrono wanted to talk about instantly upon seeing the female regarding her background, but he had to play things cool. He was at a bar, after all.

Throughout his time here, Chrono had never dropped the gourd, by the way. Even though it was a hefty amount of sand to carry, sand was his most prized possession, so even if it meant sitting awkwardly - which thankfully he wasn't - Chrono would never let the dirt aside. It must've upset the cleaning team, now that he thought about it. To be fair, the sand followed him wherever he went, but Chrono could never justify it leaving a mess wherever he roamed. He was surprised his sand hadn't caught Ravana's immediate attention, actually. "So are you from this area?" Chrono asked, "I heard wizards without a guild reside here, but where I live, guilds are a trend." Chrono at least knew from a tingly sensation that Ravana possessed some magic, so he wanted to know her story - why did she choose not to be a part of a guild? Or maybe she was?

The young man's compliment on her taste had caused a smile on Ravana's face. It was nice to be appreciated, even in small manners. However his following remark resorted in the woman raising her brow in curiosity.

    "Oh?"

She could not help but snicker slightly and lift a finger to scratch at her temple, "To be honest I assumed this was your first time partaking in alcohol at all...", After realizing the words that left her lips she instantly waved her hands frivolously and shook her head, "Don't get me wrong I am not trying to insult you... It's just that... You appear young and I figured it was safe to assume you might barely be of age..."

Ravana closed her eyes and scratched the back of her head, the red color on her cheeks forming in her embarrassment. It would not be wise to judge someone who clearly is out of the norm. Carrying on with the conversation she answered his question.

"I am not from here, My home resides in a mountain village in Midi. So like you, I am from elsewhere." She said before taking another sip and continuing, "I have only been in Fiore for a few months now, But I have been all over Earthland, visiting most, if not all the outlying countries."

Her boastful attitude left her in high spirits as she ordered another bottle for the two of them to partake from. Her joyous mood causing her to consume more at an accelerated rate, but that was all in good favor, because Ravana could certainly hold her liquor.

"Where is it you live?" she had yet to take up permanent residence in anywhere but her home village. Perhaps settling down would be a wise option at this moment.

OOC: Ravana has yet to technically join IH, and this thread started before I even opted to have her join. So I hope you don't mind me referencing that she technically is not with a guild yet.

Ha. First time consuming alcohol? Well, Chrono couldn't blame the woman. No matter how old he ended up living with this curse, his appearance always matched that of someone just getting towards the end of their adolescence. Moreover, if someone indeed pictured him as such, it was only fair to assume the male was either underage or just new to the drinking scene. "I get that sometimes." He replied, "I tend to reveal my ID to the bartender, in fact, as soon as I get to a table just to avoid any mischievous faces." He had to admit, such a thing always made him laugh on the inside. He only wished he had disabled at 21 or something rather than his teen years. "Don't feel bad for your assumptions." He concluded on the matter.

The boy could notice how much this matter had impacted the girl emotionally. It was cute to see, but he did not want to be honest about it and tell her he could see her blushing. Instead, he just continued on the other subject they had ongoing. "I try to avoid places where people like myself aren't so popular." Chrono responded to this next topic more quietly than the last, just to assure there were no rude interpretations of what he was saying, "I know I've been to Midi, but cannot remember what it was like. When you've been to multiple places, it's hard to remember every detail of all the places you've visited, after all." He hoped Ravana could understand why his interests of lands such as Talonia were so limited. People from guilds weren't really respected as much as people who weren't. In fact, if Chrono could recall, there were establishments around here strictly for those who were not associated with anything of Chrono's sort. If he remembered anything about Midi, he knew there wasn't a guild there, so Ravana was most likely guild-less like the wizards here, right?

"If you've been to most places in Earthland, you've probably seen my homeland." He added, "Currently, I live near where Infinity Hydra settles: Terra Ignis. However, I'm from the First City in Desierto. One who wears my attire would normally live in the Third City among that country, but my parents were very wealthy." Chrono didn't really like elaborating on the 'were' part of that sentence, considering his parents only lived as sand now. Otherwise, they were considered deceased in all other senses. "You should come ask to see the guild sometime." Chrono advised, "I'm sure it'll interest you in one way or another."

The woman did not intend to make such a disgusted sound, but she could not help it. Yes she had been to Desierto... and it was safe to assume she did not care for it. For a Fire Mage, even the heat in that land was too much for her. That, and her trip their was in vain as there was only a handful of mages and none of them were the one she was searching for. She was kind of curious as to what kind of magic Chrono could use, that, and what was in that rather large gourd.

"I'm still pulling out sand from my armor... You know sandstorms are a bitch right?" She chuckled slightly then raised a brow at him. "So why are you in Infinity Hydra instead of back home?" Perhaps it was too soon to ask, but Ravana was not one to hold her tongue. He could have some dark reason, and she wold blindly ask anyways. She appreciated the fact that he had been to all kinda of places, much like herself. Perhaps, he could give her some insight on where to find him, the one she would devote to as a servant.

"Where is this Infinity Hydra located at?" She asked rather curious just as she was taking out her map. It did seem worthwhile to give it a good stop. At least she could get some info from mages themselves as to a possible location.

"We received sandstorms a lot back in Desierto." Chrono explained, "I certainly imagine they are a pain to people here, but people of Desierto are used to them." This could work oppositely anywhere. The north, for example. Chrono still needed to purchase attire that would suit him in the arctic environments. Albeit, he could not see himself tolerating avalanches, or more relatively, snowstorms. For the sake of being fearless, Chrono would have to experience these sort of environments someday. He had spaced out for a moment just thinking about this, returning to reality when Ravana asked about his reason for attending Infinity Hydra. He should've expected a question like this to come due to his origin, but the male didn't mind answering. "I was only a citizen of Desierto because of my parents." He replied, "Once they passed away, I was illegal in my homeland, thus I had to move. Someone recommended that I join a guild due to my magic potential, so I found Infinity Hydra; the guild I find most suitable for my personality." The ending to this speech was somewhat true. Infinity Hydra indeed suited Chrono well, but the man had never asked members from other guilds what kind of personalities their guild expected.

"Infinity Hydra is located in Terra Ignis." Chrono commented on Ravana's second question, "It's not a must-see sort of location, but you're welcome to check it out if you wish." Chrono began to wonder why Ravana wanted to know this. Was she considering joining the guild, or rather exploring what was on the outside of it? So many questions in so little time, he supposed. He didn't want to tell Ravana about any of the authorities there as he thought it'd be a nice surprise. They weren't mean at all, and would probably welcome her with open arms if she behaved. Speaking of behaving, Chrono looked at the sake still present on the table. As nice as it was to drink with somebody like Ravana, Chrono didn't want to end up like the men who had to be carried out of the bar, so he stopped drinking. "Has our discussion persuaded you into joining my guild?" He asked.
