    A Disturbance In The Forest

It was yet another day in Earth Land, the sun was high in the sky over Magnolia yet the golden rays were hidden by the dark clouds that loomed overhead, the warmth being swept away by a chill breeze as it looked like another dull day was in store for it's residents. One particular resident was jumping around from town to town, staying in various hotels as he lived the wanderers lifestyle as he chased around in searching information and rumours on certain creatures around the land, yet he found himself chasing dead ends. It was time to check out of the hotel as Kayn found himself using the last of his jewels to pay for the room for the night, which only meant one thing, that he needed to find some work otherwise he'd be sleeping rough for a while. Great, I didn't even realise money was getting that low. The passing thought came as Kayn left the building before making his way down the street, hands in the pockets of his trousers, pondering on what work he could do.

The long messy brown locks flowed in the passing breeze as the young man made his way down the street, most of his usual attire hidden by a long and old ragged dull brown coat, somewhat sticking out within the crowds and passing people. It was a short trip from the hotel towards the building which hosted the job boards, Kayn was hoping that he could find something that was at least interesting or at least something which could give him some sort of direction. Nothing, nothing, nothing. A heavy sigh slipped passed his lips, there just didn't seem to be anything that was note worthy until the silvery blue gaze drifted over towards a particular job. Strange disturbances in the East Forest? It perked his curiosity as he read more into the job  as he discovered there was some strange sightings of an unusual create within the forest, causing a disturbance to the natural order of things. Well, this could possibly lead to something.

Going through the correct approval to apply and take the job, it didn't take long until the job was officially his and the other bonus, he didn't have to travel far. The dreaded thought of having to travel far usually meant some sort of transportation which already began to make his stomach turn at that alone. Stupid motion sickness, coming out of nowhere. Kayn quietly grumbled to himself before making the trip towards the large forested area that was east of Magnolia as the weather took a turn of the worst, the grey clouds turning darker as the rain began to fall. The journey was thankfully a short once as the young man soon found himself deep within the forest and began his search for anything that seemed out of the ordinary. Dredging through the muddy land, his footsteps breaking the twigs and the eerie silence of the ambience caused by the wind and rain. There doesn't seem to be anything here. Suddenly there was a noise within the distance, making it's approach towards Kayn and his location, the only question on his mind right now was, what the hell was actually coming his way?

    Gorian V.S Dragon Slayer

The heavy footsteps grew louder, the splashing of water and mud squishing beneath the hulking feet of a forest Vulcan, it wasn't what Kayn was expecting, he was hoping for something alittle bit more interesting, surely this Vulcan wasn't the cause of disturbance here, did someone just over exaggerate for the job? Vulcans are anthropomorphic monsters that resemble primates, yet there are a few distinct differences such as the long ears as well as the horn on top of their head. This type of Vulcan is known as a Gorian, which are more commonly found within deep forests just like this one east of Magnolia and these beasts are not to be underestimated for any experienced wizard. With the Gorian making it's appearance know, pummeling it's chest with it's large fists before charging towards Kayn as he had to quickly decide on his plan of action. I don't want to resort using magic this early, I don't want to have to use it, I don't need it!

Kayn stood his ground as the Gorian charged in, preparing to slam one of it's huge forearms in a side way sweep towards the slayer as he raised his arms up to block the impact, the force sending him sideways as his feet slid across the wet mud. Thankfully due to his experiences and his time with the red dragon, Kayn was a little more sturdier and stronger than your average wizard, but that didn't mean he could get in over his head with such a task. With the battle beginning as Kayn came to a halt, he quickly made his charge towards the Gorian, ducking underneath another coming swipe to sock the beast within it's gut with a fierce fist. The strike effected the Gorian somewhat as it took a brief stagger back, but the hardy creature wasn't going to keel over just from that alone. The beast raised it's bulking arms into the air, aiming to slam them down right on top of the slayer who raised his arms to catch the forearms in the palm of his hands, only to be forced down onto his one knee.

I'm not going to lose to some damn overgrown primate! Kayn was starting to get infuriated with the situation, the fires of a dragon burning within, waiting to be unleashed, this magic had caused him so much trouble in his past, there was no-one around, would it really matter using it now? The power struggle between the two continued briefly until Kayn had to face the fact that at this moment, he would have to use his magic, if he liked it or not, it was going to be a factor in him coming out the winner in this scenario. Kayn felt the burning sensation within his lungs as the flames rushed into them as he took a deep breath, waiting to create an opportunity to strike. Bolstering his strength, Kayn forced himself up and pushed the arms of the Gorian aside before unleashing his attack directly towards it's chest. "Fire Dragon's Roar!"The mass of flames came into contact with the beasts chest, scorching the fur as well as the beast staggered and fell backwards from the impact onto the muddy ground.

    Disappointed Reports

The mixture of the rain, scorched fur and the other scents of nature all merged together as the Gorian hit the ground with a harsh thud, the green fur singed black as it got back up, seemingly nervous from the attack as it didn't dare to pound it's chest just as it did before. Kayn simply stared down the beast, the embers from his mouth fading as he raised a right first, flames surrounding it fiercely as a warning, the two staring each other down, waiting to see who made the next move, who won the intimidation game. A few seconds of eerie silence, the only sounds were that of nature and the crackle of flames until the territorial beast turned it's tail and ran, not wanting to risk any more injuries from the wizard. With a heavy sigh, the flames died out as Kayn then took a deep breath at the matter, sure the situation seemed easy enough, but it was disappointing that it was nothing more than a common monster within the forest. "That almost felt like a waste of time, at least I'm getting paid."

Another annoying matter is that he couldn't simply go and say that he's finished the job, he had to report his findings on what was seemingly causing these disturbances, he also had to report that he had taken care of the issue, which meant being around more magic users. Gritting his teeth at the thought of being around more magic and their users, while also having to report what happened along with the soreness ins his arms from the short battle against the Gorian, could things be worse? It seemed unlikely as the rain continued to fall, his clothes wet and stained with specks of mud as Kayn began to trench his way back towards Magnolia from the East Forest. Luckily it wasn't a long trip, but that didn't change the fact that he was soaked, the brown wet locks clinging to his face as he made his way back into town, the people of Magnolia still taking care of their business, more prepared for the weather unlike he was.

Hopefully this won't take too long, it shouldn't be much of a report really
. Within a few more minutes, Kayn found himself back at the same place were he had took the job and it just so happened to be, the person who had placed up the job happened to be there. It seemed like they were contacted that someone took their job and simply wanted to wait and see how long it would take and if they would turn up. It only took a couple of hours, but he really didn't expect the person to show up so soon, but regardless of that fact, Kayn made his way towards them as he was beckoned over, apologising for his state due to the weather. The conversation was rather brief as Kayn explained the footprints, along with the sighting and the interaction with the Gorian, making the assumption that it was seeking new territory. In all fairness, he had no idea, Kayn was just trying to make the report seem somewhat more interesting than it was as he waited for them to sort his payment, though the pair of them seemed rather disappointed with the outcome of what the creature was.

With the report coming to an end, Kayn took his payment and said his farewell to the contractor before taking his leave from the building and headed back to the outskirts of town, seeking the hotel that he originally stayed in, hopefully something would come up soon and he wouldn't have to keep chasing rumours.
