    The White Queen
The day was drawing to evening as Saraphina glances over to Nadaline. It hadn’t been too terribly long since her and her brother had tried the potion from Hostia and had a change to them. They were now blonds and rather angelic in nature. Of course, Nadaline was more in tune with healing, while her brother was for protecting her and his master. Saraphina had made them stronger. “Your majesty… there’s a festival going on down in the settlements. Apparently there is also a custom where people dress up as what they’re not too. Would you like to take a break and go and see?” She questions as the white haired queen sipped her tea. She glanced up to her before she smiles. “I might as well. I’ll bring a couple people with me for some fun. Tell Bertrand to fetch Jester and Birch. I’ll bring another maid so you two can spruce up on your training.” She grins as Nadaline bows. “I’ll take you and your brother next time. I want you two to be the very best and in tip-top shape!” She giggles while setting her tea down and starting to skip off.

She paused though and pouts before she looks over to Nadaline. “I’ve picked out a costume for you in case you already wished to wear one, miss. It's laying on your bed and easy to get on.” She said with a smile. A grin was one her queens face as the white haired queen nods and resumes her skipping off to her room to get changed. She had come out of her room a little bit later wearing a red dress that fanned out much like an umbrella of sorts at the bottom. It covered to just above her knees though. The bottom of the dress had a black strip that had red roses placed here and there while on her shoulders was white puff sleeves and her little pendant around her neck. Upon her head, was a black and red headband with a little bat attached to it, and on her hands were a pair of fingerless gloves that had buckles on them. Her feet had nice little black block heel, buckle booties. Of course Nadaline had picked the best for her mistress.

In a rather loud voice, she begun singing a song. “Princes’ of Silver, Princes’ of Gold! My prince will love me till I’m old~” She skipped down the hall happily as she was searching for someone. Then she spotted her. “Priscilla~” Her voice rang out as she headed towards the other maid she liked having around. When she caught up to her, her hand reached out and tugged a little on the chain on her collar as she passed by her. “Come on. We’re going to a festival, Nadaline and Bertrand are going to be training more now that they’ve started learning their stuff more.” She giggles as she continued walking. She takes a deep breath as she walks out towards the entrance of her castle. She needed to get herself a better mode of transportation when it was more than just her and one or two other people… Týr could only handle so many people on his poor little back.

She looked out at the massive bear, who clearly could hold more than four people on his back and was just lounging about the courtyard. He had just had a meal, so his muzzle was dirty as Queen Saraphina approached the bear while dragging the maid behind her. “Týr, sweetie, we need to go down the mountain.” She says as she finally lets go of the chain to Priscilla.” She giggles as she goes to hug the neck of her favorite bear, and waits for her two other companions to join her so they can set sail down the mountain! She was started to get excited for this festival that she just heard of. The last one had been quite divine! Maybe she’ll get to see more of one of her companions fighting~

The castle was rather quiet today, which wasn't anything to really complain about really. The quieter it was, the easier it was to keep things nice and peaceful. More so that the place wouldn't be cluttered with unconscious, ungrateful people who just tried to make her work much more of a problem than it already was. She was often dragged off in the middle of her work in order to fulfill some personal matter. Be it they didn't like something and wanted her to do it for them or be it that they wanted to bring her along for a personal matter so they didn't have to dirty their own hands. At first, it was a real pain in the neck for her that she had to possible be scolded for such a thing, but after a while, it seemed like it just wasn't that big of a deal to her, so she just decided to push that aside and leave it as it was.

Something that helped make things a little more enjoyable to do was to work without the need to constantly be wearing a uniform. With the mix of these personal tasks and having to do her own work, she began to often run out of clean uniforms and would have to spend a day washing them while she did her duties in other clothing. This went without saying that her collar and the partial chain to it wasn't still latched to her neck. In some cases, this was a necessity to her identity and frankly, she couldn't imagine not wearing it. That... and honestly she didn't know how to get it off. All that she could really remember of it was that she was still able to move it around to clean it, it never rusted, and it never really left any marks or anything unless it was being used to drag her about... something really only Saraphina had done. Hopefully in her current outfit that wouldn't happen, but the Queen of the castle was notorious for being very.. sporadic when it came to some things. So nothing was expected.

Aaand there it was!~ The call of her name in such a musical tone brought her up from fixing up a small table that seated a potted plant and turned to face her. Almost in an immediate go of the motion and no hesitation, Saraphina had grabbed a hold of her chain and began to drag the maid down the hall with her. "A-Alright, M-Mistress. B-But do you really need to keep pulling on my collar like this?" She asked, doing her best keep up with her despite wearing heels along with her attire. As she was pulled along, she had been told of joining two other members which she'd honestly never had an extended meeting with before. Jester was told to have been a close right hand to the Queen, but Birch she sadly didn't know much of, yet. If anything, she was a little excited to have others with her, some hopefully more sane than the Queen could be at times, but she would have to wait and see. Right now, she was just honored to go out to a festival regardless of the reason why.

Pushing their way out into the courtyard, the sight of the bear which she'd fed not too long ago had seemed to have finished his meal. Sadly, his muzzle was a dirty mess and she wasn't very happy about it at all, but it wasn't so much of a big deal. Looking down, she finally had herself released from the womans grip and she was able to finally regain her normal composure while watching her hug the ever loving daylights of her bear. It put a small smile on her face seeing her act in a rather adorable manner. In the meantime, she had looked over the bear, and though he was of a rather massive size for a bear, she didn't want to overload the poor beast while going down the mountain. "If I may, your highness... I don't necessarily need to ride on your companion. I can fly and give you and the others more room, more so making the ferry of us less taxing on Tyr. With your permission of course." She gave a dutiful and courteous curtsy as best her dress would allow, awaiting both Sara's reply and the congregation of the two others whom were joining them.

Dress up? Dress up?! Would a man who so happened to frequently obsess over getting to perform, entertain and play various roles during his many games really be okay with dress up? Well, of course. This was why when the opportunity arose for the clown to sport another eccentric outfit from his vast wardrobe, he would of course jump at the opportunity. Plus it was an invitation from his queenie, so naturally, it would be a fun event well worth attending. This was why as the clown was strolling down the halls of the castle, he was sporting a fancy white suit. One that made him look quite aristocratic, yet still as flamboyant as his natural self.

He was heading toward the courtyard where he often met his Queenie for such escapades. As he arrived, he would spot her hugging her dear bear-bear, all the while holding a chain connected to the throat of an unfamiliar woman. Jester fell into the step and began to twirl across the courtyard, moving towards the pair with unnatural speed and grace. He landed before his Queen, before dropping into a low bow. "My Queenie, My queenie, as ever so dreamy, such a wonderful day, it is for a play~" He said to her in his usual silky tone. Before straightening up, all of a sudden he would round on the chained girl. Moving into her personal space, his eyes bore down on her with the examination. "And this? What do we have here? A new pet? Does she bark?" His eyes lowered in a sinister manner, "Woof woof~" He added, before throwing his head back to laugh at his own folly. Following this, he would once more turn to face his Queenie. "Will Oakey be coming along~ Oh I hope so. We always have such fun Oakey and I," He leaned towards the chained girl, covering his mouth as he spoke as though telling her a secret, "We're best friends you see, Oakey and I. Shh, don't tell anyone!" He said, pointedly putting his finger to his lips and shushing her in a childlike manner.

And just like that, Birch was vexed. He'd been in the middle of a proper dusting of his spacious room in the castle when Bertrand appeared in his door. This old condition of this stone structure was horrible about collecting dust, and he'd already made a routine of taking his faithful feather duster to it at least twice a week. But now his door was being knocked on and opening, revealing the newly blond boy coming to fetch him. "No. I absolutely will not attend another festival," he snapped, adjusting his spectacles on his nose and turning his back to the boy.

In the end, the incessant angelic lapdog of the "queen" won the battle and Birch was trekking down the hall in quick, agitated steps that echoed sharply off all of the stonework. This woman's obsession with entertainment was already grating, but her insistence that she couldn't have fun by herself was even worse. No, actually what was the worst was that he'd been forced to dress up, as well. Bertrand had failed to force him into a tacky suit but seemed to have an epiphany that the man's normal mode of dress was close enough to the costume to be acceptable, then somehow wrangled him into a gaudy cape and an embellished bat broach around a frilly neckerchief. With his blond locks pulled back and a pair of fake fangs placed in his gloved hand, it seemed the lapdog was satisfied and then forced him out of his room.

As he joined the others, his mood soured even more, so much so that he wanted to screech, but managed to stay poised and only slightly enraged. Of course, the clown was here too. Where the queen was, there was that infuriatingly mentally disabled Jester with his Oakey! and the dancing and the inane antics. In fact, he was already spouting the horrible nickname along with some other babble, and it was all Birch could do to keep from offing himself in hopes of spending his day inside an egg in a horribly taxing rebirth trial than attend this festival with these crazies. His eye twitched and then both narrowed. Glancing at the girl nearby that he'd never seen, he briefly wondered about the collar but decided he didn't care.

He'd also not be riding that atrocious white beast with the dirty maw either. Now that his power had been stoked, thanks in a small part to Saraphina, he could call on other modes of transportation, though he chose not to use them right now. In his aversion to the group in general, his steps veered away from them and lead him outside to a tall tree seemingly frozen in autumn despite the cold temperatures of the mountain. As he neared, a door appeared in its trunk and Birch entered it, sealing it behind him. He'd planted another at the settlement nearby, and that's where he emerged seconds later.

In his stolen moment of peace, stormy eyes surveilled the area. Vendors, food, and games much like the last festival. There didn't seem to be attacking mages this time, but the day was young. In a newer twist, there were tents for cooking contests and eating contests, but those didn't interest him much. He was a fine cook, but he saw little benefit in putting his skills to the test unless there was a challenge issued. He could also see a grand maze in the distance, which was the only thing that really caught his attention in the least. Mazes had been a fun past time at local fests in his country, so seeing it brought back memories from a happier time. Yes, Birch had been happy once... it'd just been a very long time ago. Before doing anything, against his own wishes he waited for the group to catch up. Otherwise, he knew they'd just hunt him down and make a scene.

    The White Queen
Saraphina giggles slightly to herself as Pricilla was following behind her after she grabbed her chain and shrugs her shoulders to the question. She didn’t mind regardless how she grabbed the girl. She’d have done it to others as well, probably, but they usually bounced around more and make it near impossible to grab their clothing collars. After getting to Týr and letting go of the chain, Saraphina was in bliss being near her polar bear. She looked up as she felt another energy nearing them. She looked up and spied her jester coming forth. She stood up as she watched his twirling and how he seemed to enjoy himself. As he bowed to her, Saraphina curtsied to him. “Jester~.” She giggles as she clapped her hands. His questioning of who was with them made her gasp and lean forward a moment to him. “This is Pricilla, my other maid. She’s been teaching Nadaline and Bertrand new things for them to do as servants~” She was clearly proud of this as she wiggled her shoulders excitedly.

At the question of 'Oakey' coming along, the white haired queen blinks and tilts her head. “You mean… Birch?” A grin formed on her lips. “Why yes! Birch is coming along with us~ I hope…” She pouts a little as she puts a finger to her bottom lip. Pricilla offered to let herself fly instead of riding on Týr, and Saraphina started to think for a moment. “Hmm…” She actually said aloud while she pursed her lips out and looked up at the same time as tapping her chin. She spots Birch coming out of the castle, and smiled sweetly to him, wondering if he was actually going to join them. He was all dressed up, so he probably was, right? She watched him walk on out of the courtyard. She pouts a bit as she looked over to Pricilla. “You may fly if you wish.” She didn’t care anymore. She had her Jester to play with at the festival. As long as they had fun, it would be a good day at least!

It took a little bit, but the trio had made their way down the mountain and finally were at Mount Hakobe Settlements. As they neared the settlements and where they were having the festival, Saraphina spotted Birch. She gasped as she slid down and instantly started jogging towards him, wrapping her arms around one of his as she looked up to him. He was slightly matching her in a sense. They were both ‘vampires’ for the festival! “Birch! You look dashing! Are you joining us as well?!” She honestly couldn’t help asking eagerly. She was hoping he’d say ‘yes’, but regardless of his answer, she had quickly let go of his arm and looked over to the festival. Her eyes seemed to light up as she was excited.

What to do first? What to do first?! There were so many things to do here at this festival! It was hard to choose just one thing to start with. Her purplish pink eyes glance back at everyone as she smiled to them all. “Come on!” She giggles to the group as she skips forward a bit. There was probably no shaking her excitement anytime soon. Not unless someone did something to her again. As she skipped forward, a voice started speaking when she passed a spot.

“I have one and you have one. So do the woods, fields, streams and seas, fish, beasts and crops and everything else in this revolving world.” A one-eyed man who was hunched on a stump asked her. The white queen stops her skipping and slowly walks back towards the man as the curiosity got the best of her real quick. “May you repeat that…?” She questions him. Her eyes spy a basket of trophies, and wonders what they’re for. But they were shiny. “I have one and you have one. So do the woods, fields, streams and seas, fish, beasts and crops and everything else in this revolving world.” The man had repeated to her. She makes a face as she honestly had no clue what in the world that meant! “Are you talking about a ‘life’?” She asks him as she looks to the others, seeing what they’d say, or if they had their own answers to give. She honestly didn’t see him nodding towards the bucket after she answered him, but she had looked back at him as his eye seemed to scan her though, which made her blink. What was he looking at her like that for…?

As the maid stood in the snow, looking on to the guild Mistress enjoying herself in having been able to snuggle with her large, burly companion, there was a temptation for her to want to pet him, maybe say hi and try to be more friendly towards him, but for now she chose to keep back and quiet. It was more like her really and in the mean time she would be more than happy to keep to that very stance until she was ready to move along. After all, she had no real need to change anything unless she were told to. With a gentle smile, Sanguine continued to just watch with some glee of how cute Saraphina was when she wasn’t being a rather bratty princess, much to the theme she seemed to be building in the maids mind.

Soon after, a new person had joined the two and his personality had been rather.. fitting. He to some was rather cryptic in what he was saying at first until she caught on to the way he spoke. It was a little entertaining really, something that Sara had found to be very appealing from the way they had acted toward one another. When he came to begin in addressing the maid, she was a bit off guard, showing very much so in her face until he was introduced by the queen as the name given to her by the girl in white, herself. ”It’s a pleasure to meet you, sir. You may call me Priscilla or Sanguine, whichever you prefer.” She gave her best attempt at a curtsy, given this wasn’t the type of outfit that bore a good way for a maid to properly be introducing herself. But, dressing casually for a formal occasion.. and yes, the maid outfit was casual to her, felt off.

When Jester brought about the notion of her being able to bark and then simulating the sound, it caused her to giggle a bit and even nod. ”I could if you wanted me to. If it was something a member asked of me, I wouldn’t hesitate, to an extent.” Her bit of a cheery smile fell into a look of neutrality. ”I can entertain, but by far will I be taken advantage of to seem like an idiot. I won’t hesitate to lay waste to someone who wastes my time over petty shows of entitlement.” Her own look met that evil look of Jesters until the motion of silencing and questioning got her mixed up once again. This mention of an “Oakey” and then the mention of a male named Birch, she began to laugh lightly, but enough to make her be a little more audible. ”I get it. It’s a tree pun, Mistress.” She thought she had to explain the whole thing to the girl, as though she’d never known what a tree was or something.

Now, they were able to take off to the festivities. As allowed, the maid gave a small bow and a pair of black wings would expand from her backside, unfolding as though they were stretching out. It left her a moment where the blue patterns embedded in the webbing of the wings would would seen. With one flap, she picked herself up from the ground and began to keep herself at a small height up from the ground. Being half dragon had its benefits once in a while. Once they took off to the festival, the maid kept her pace until they had gotten down to the settlement where she stopped just before, allowing the wings to retract themselves. Over the years, the pain this caused had lessened and also helped her to become more numb to the pain overall. But now she had to play the catch up game. Walking along, she had found Saraphina talking with a man whom seemed to have gotten her a little confused. As she approached, she heard him repeating a riddle of some sort. ”Light from the sun could also be a viable answer. As well as the shadows the light that shines on them brings.” She replied aloud, approaching the one eyed man and her guild Mistress had stood and then stopping by her side opposite to Jester, should he be standing by her as well.

Tricks for Treats (Jester/Birch/Sanguine) Empty Re: Tricks for Treats (Jester/Birch/Sanguine)

Post by Jester 29th September 2019, 5:43 am

The woman's reaction was one of the more pleasant kinds, not like some who would not entertain the clown and his well...clownish behaviour. He could be normal if he wanted, he could, but it was boring. He preferred this, it felt natural, perhaps even comfortable for the circus-raised man. Queenie and the chained girl would inform him of her name, but this wouldn't set, he pondered a moment. Going through his usual process of assigning a name of his own to the woman, he would think it over. His golden eyes falling to the chain on her neck, like a pet, human as she was. He couldn't get the thought from his mind, "La-la~" He said, reaching forward he grabbed the chain and played with it idly, his voice growing deeper and slightly more malevolent. As far as her words meaning, she was someone he could toy with, that what she was offering right? Was she attempted to challenge him with her declaration that she would kill anyone who tried to waste her time. He would chuckle deeply, enjoying her threat. Suddenly, he tugged the chain sharply, not too hard, but enough that she would feel it. "Silly La-La~ There is nothing wasteful about having fun." He purred menacingly, he dropped the chain sweeping away from the woman and towards his Queen. "Wouldn't you agree Queenie?" He asked in a much cheerier and more playful tone.

Upon hearing that Oakey would be joining them, Jester giggled with glee, dancing a little dance around the girls and bear-bear. Until he arrived, as he did Jester would rush up to the butler in his vampiric attire. "Oakey, Oakey!" He called in an sing-song voice, "Yes, yes, Count Oakula! Come, come!" He said, tucking his arm around the blonde mans and attempting to march him along towards the festival in a rather exaggerating manner as the clown practically skipped the entire way there. As they arrived, Jester would take a moment to settle into the atmosphere. The stalls, the music, the people; all of it was stirrings those feelings again. But he was prepared this time, he reached into his jacket pocket and pulled out a small pouch. He would open the pouch and pull out a blue and a yellow stone. He brought it to his nose and sniffed them, the essence of the pebble shooting up his nose. It was a curious magic, but useful. He felt himself calm first, the bubbling rage that was threatening to explode settling quickly. Following this, he felt a sense of euphoria and almost childlike joy. He let out another loud giggle before returning the pebbles to the pouch and placing it back into his jacket pocket.

It was at this point he heard a man address his Queenie with a question, the clown would listen in. Contemplating the riddle, his queenie, would answer, as would the maid. Jester would giggle delighted at the question. "Could be a shadow, could be a name, could be a life, what a wonderful game!" He rhymed, reaching over to the bucket, as the man nodded once more. Jester would pull out the trophies, and handing them over to the group. As he turned back to the man, he was already gone, almost as though he had disappeared in a puff of smoke.

Moving away, the clown decided to explore a little, as he moved along he noticed a maze. He eyed it for a moment, but that seemed rather boring, so he moved around it. Until he arrived at what appeared to be a bonfire, where figures were laughing, dancing and drinking. Jester eyed the festivities, it seemed those dancing were trying to outdo each other, cheering each other on and even heckling a little. Jester giggled, unable to resist. With a clap of his hands, he would summon two Harlequin dolls. "I think they want a performance... now, who better to give them one... shall we?" He said conversation to the dolls and anyone in case they'd followed him. Without further instruction, the dolls would before to somersault into the dancefloor, before breaking into dance. Jester would kick off his heel, twirling toward them to give them a magnificent performance.

And what a show it was.

Tricks for Treats (Jester/Birch/Sanguine) Empty Re: Tricks for Treats (Jester/Birch/Sanguine)

Post by Arkadi Azarov 30th September 2019, 3:59 am

With the continuing moments of peace, Birch let his mind wander. There really had been a time when he'd have enjoyed himself at something like this. He'd always been a bit of the serious type, but not as jaded as he found himself now. Given the happenings in his rather long life, he'd earned his right to be prickly, but that didn't mean he couldn't see what he'd become and miss the days when he might have played the games with friends, having a bit of friendly competition with many laughs and jeers. The nostalgia twisted him a bit, and usually when he started feeling a bit emotional, that meant it was time for a smoke break. It was a nasty habit, but what did it matter to a being that could die and be reborn?

Lighting up a cigarette and slowly taking a drag, stern gray eyes peered from behind his spectacles at a blond woman an undead bride costume walking arm in arm with similarly styled groom. Sure, the spooky aspect was blatant, but he ignored the silliness of it due to the familiarity. It was hard to believe he'd nearly walked down the aisle once, and with a treacherous snake with a penchant for white and royalty. The demonic she-beast had shattered his life entirely, and even though he wasn't so delusional or caught up in his stroll down memory lane that he'd confused this innocent woman as his ex-fiancee, it was all he could do to keep from strolling right up to her and crushing her windpipe.

Forcing his eyes away from the couple, he debated giving up on this stupid event and simply stepping back into the tree to return home, but now it was too late.

First he noticed the girl he didn't know from earlier was flying down the mountain. At first his interest was peaked, thinking they might be feathery wings, something he was very familiar with, but alas. They were scaly and looked almost like leather pulled taught over coat-hangers. Dragon wings or something of the like. With a heavy sigh, he disregarded the maid entirely, steeling himself instead for the remaining two members of their group.

He side-eyed the bear as it lumbered down with two passengers. Frankly, he thought he was allergic to the infernal thing. As much of its dirty white fur was around the castle for him to clean, he couldn't help but notice he sneezed every time. The itchiness in his eyes was highly unpleasant. Her Bear-Bear was bad for his health, as was the guild in general. Sometimes he wondered if he'd gone insane like the rest of his guildmates by staying, but he knew that wasn't the case. He was hanging in there, biding his time, building his strength. Waiting.

As soon as they arrived, hopping off with the energy of coffee-sucking toddlers. He definitely regretted waiting for them to catch up. Flicking his cigarette away, it was mere moments before Saraphina had him by one arm and Jester, who was making himself extra strangle-able by calling him 'Count Oakula', had him by the other. "As if I have any option other than to come..." he grumbled in a low tone, and off they marched, Birch lagging just enough to make it clear he wasn't a fan, but also not willing to let them get a rise out of him. "Saraphina," he greeted the guild master with his normal level of cold aloofness, though he did turn to examine her outfit. Brows lifted slightly. She'd opted out of her usual white, seeming to put him strangely at ease. "Your red dress is..nice..." he muttered an uncomfortable compliment, making it a point to encourage some fashion diversity for the 'White Queen'. It wasn't that god-awful white getup, but it also wasn't black. Not that he really cared either way, but he much preferred the black to the white, as he'd told her before.

Thankfully, Birch found himself released from their grips once three of the four got caught up in some sort of pointless riddle. How he had let Jester touch him that long without Birch trying to strangle him was some sort of Autumn Equinox miracle, but he didn't trust himself to linger closely to the painted man. Saraphina's chosen ace got under his skin in every way. Being in his presence so often was a level of torture so closely resembling one of his rebirth trials that he wondered if he'd died somewhere and didn't realize it yet. Looking to create some distance, the unhappy vampire edged away from the group, then headed straight for the maze he'd been eyeing earlier. Getting lost within the twists and turns would be nice and peaceful, something he didn't get a lot of these days. He hoped no one would follow, but also had an inkling that at least one of them would, if only just to torment him.

    The White Queen
The white queen had watched her maid slightly when she responded back to Jester. She raised an eyebrow as she smirked. Of course she knew this maid could hold her own if there was any threat. She listened to Jesters new name for Priscilla, and she smiles. He came up with such sweet names for others. “I do agree, having fun is* never wasteful~” A giggle escaped her lips, and she looks to the maid as she put a hand on her hip. “And, I’m aware about what a tree is. I didn’t know that was what he called Birch.” She comments back to her about the tree pun bit. She paid little mind to the maid as she flew off before the queen and her bear and her favorite jester.

She honestly didn’t expect for Jester to have slightly copied her when it came to Birch and grabbing his arm. She giggles softly and looks up to him with her big purplish pink eyes. “You could have rejected coming~” She mused to him as she slightly put her head to his arm. “But you came anyways! Which meant you did want to come!” She giggles as she hugged his arm a bit more. Would he compliment her outfit? Oh! She hoped he would. At the fair grounds, Saraphina watched Jester quizzically as she had no idea what it was he had gotten that he was sniffing. Was it a magic flower? She didn’t see it too well, if she were to be honest. When the blonde had called her name, she loosened her grip a bit and stepped away a little while looking at him. Her face seemed to light up a bit when he said her dress was nice! It wasn’t all black, but it was good in her opinion with the black on the bottom. She seemed in a cheerier mood now after that compliment.

When herself, Jester, and Priscilla had gotten caught up in the riddle, each providing their own answer, Saraphina taps her chin. They actually all sounded right to her. But which one was the correct one? She wouldn’t know as when Jester had presented them each with a trophy for answering the question, the man was gone. She was utterly confused about what had happened… She turned to see where Birch was, and noticed him going away from the group, making her pout some. Maybe there was something he’d rather be doing. Jester had started to run off to play games of his own, and she started to follow after him, till she noticed Birch go into a ‘maze’ as a sign near it said. She had never played with a maze before, so she was now curious.

As soon as she entered, Saraphina realized how small the pathway was, and she didn’t really see where Birch had gone. She held her hand to her chest and was starting to shake a bit, till she found herself face to face with a dead end in the maze. She froze for a moment as her eyes grew wide. She had no clue where she was. How to get out of here. Or where anyone was. This wasn’t good. Tears started forming in her eyes, threatening to spill over as her eyes darted around the three walls that surrounded her. She was back to when she was a child. Thinking of being alone in her caravan she used to live in with her parents, or on her own when her parents were out getting supplies for them. She couldn’t go back there.

She quickly squeezes her eyes shut and ripped herself from the memories, simultaneously moving her legs and making herself run away from the corner of the maze she was in. she opened her eyes as she began running a bit, hoping she’d find someone. Birch would be great to find since she saw him going in here already. She could barely see where she was going, so she was bumping into the sides of the maze a bit as she ran. She was terrified to the point she wasn’t even thinking of using her magic to force her way out of the maze.**

It wasn't long before onlooking eyes found their way to the clown and his dolls, and who could blame them. This wasn't the usual time of group that might wander into a dance by fireside. No, their movements were fluid, complex, and in perfect sycronisation to the lively music that blasted over the crowd.

The Harlequins would contort their bodies into unnatural shapes, and Jester would manipulate them. Like a dancing choreographer, he spun alongside them. His nimble fingers indicating each movement. The crowd was soon entranced, lost in the scene that quickly unfolded before them. The Harlequins, who were circling Jester at this point, their lithe bodies folded backward and they masked expressions staring in the crowd through the gaps of their own legs. They would uncurl themselves from the extremely misshapen forms, and which point the clown in the center of the crowd would kneel, holding his hands outwards, his palms facing to the night sky. The dolls turned to him, lifting their right leg, they would both step onto his palm. And with unbelievable balance, step off of the ground. Hovering in poses that could only be described as one with the pose of a ballerina. The clown would lift the dolls into the air, causing the crowd to erupt in applause. He would dance around the fire, somehow keeping the Harlequins balanced in his hand, despite them being the size and weight of a young woman each.

And when the music reached the perfect pinnacle, he would adjust his grip and launch both the dolls into the air. Where they would somersault, landed perfectly on the ground at his side. There was a collage of whoops and cheers, what appeared to be someone who seemed to be helping run the festival came over and handed him another trophy. He stayed at it, the man was talking to him, gushing over his performance with extensive praise. But Jester could hear him, he stared down at the trophy, the words drowned out by his own breathing. The effect of the rocks seemed to be seeping away, and his Queenie was nowhere near enough to distract him.

    Music.

    Laughing.

    Children.

He had performed again. A real actual peformance, just like those days. He had performed and not for his own sake... but for others. The smile faded from the clowns face, his eyes grew wide... unnaturally wide. His heart was pounding in his ears, and he heard the sound of a childs voice. He glanced over and saw a small blonde boy, tugging on his jacket asking him to dance some more. But Jester couldn't hear this, because it was at this point. Everything, all of it, the music, the laughter and the children. All of it with fade into a deep red hue. And just like that he was gone. Gone, gone, gone. And the gathering surrounding the bonfire would become nothing short of a massacre.

The music, the laughter and the children. All gone.

    Replaced by screams.

Tricks for Treats (Jester/Birch/Sanguine) Empty Re: Tricks for Treats (Jester/Birch/Sanguine)

Post by Arkadi Azarov 1st October 2019, 5:02 pm

Birch heard something rustling, coming up fast and sounding like a bucking bronco in its small holding pin before a rodeo. He was a decent way in, enjoying the stolen moments of solitude. Up until the rustling, he'd yet to run into another person, which meant he could wander around at his leisure, hands in his pockets and a rather serene expression on his face. It was a well-constructed maze, not so hard that one would get frustrated but also not so easy that it didn't take some time and wrong turns to escape.

He tried to ignore the rustling, sincerely hoping whoever it was would be a stranger that might rush right past him. However, he had a sinking feeling that his luck was not nearly that good, and he was right. He refused to turn around and acknowledge whoever it was until, honestly, he felt them turn the corner hastily and thud into his back. He took a step forward from the force, whirling to see which of his daft guildmates it would be.

Oh, of course, it was Saraphina. Ever since he'd danced with her to get a little kickstart from her icy magic, she'd taken more of an active interest in him. It was annoying, but he accepted his consequences. With each move he made, with every manipulation it took to reclaim his place in life, he knew sacrifices would be made.

What he didn't anticipate was her current emotional state. She looked absolutely terrified, which disarmed him the slightest bit. "What's the matter?" his deep, slightly accented voice asked in bewilderment, brows angling upward, which was a rarity since they generally liked to sit a little lower over his eyes like cranky eye awnings.

It was moments after their quiz that it seemed to be that Saraphina and Jester scattered off into different directions. One could only assume as some strange old man approached her from behind. If not for heightened senses, she may never have heard him coming through the noise of the crowd, even with a cane. He didn’t really have to say anything as his gaze and watering mouth spoke volumes for him in terms of what it was he seemed to interested in her for. Then came some strange chuckle or laugh that could only be described as the verbal cue of chills up one’s spine in how depraved it sounded. “Sho honey, how much do you charge?” He asked, moving his cane to the front of her dress and trying to move it away to see underneath.

Sanguine remained silent, still even. Where most women would be up in arms already, she remained calm and collected. A section of white hair wrapped around the bottom of the cane and with a swift yank, freed it from his grip. It left the pervert with little balance to his name... but she was going to change that for him. She brought the mans cane around and managed to fit the curve of the cane around his neck before pulling him up into the air. People around were staring in fear and confusion at what was going on, but a simple smirk formed on the maids lips and she pulled up on it, forcing him further up and letting gravity slowly choke him to death. ”I wish I could say it was fun chatting with you, but that would imply you were worth talking to.” And with that, she left slack and left him to drop several feet before yanking up, letting out a vicious snapping sound and his body sliding off the cane and falling to the floor, lifeless now. She said not a word and simply walked away, brushing through the crowd with little effort as others were avoiding the thought of being next on her stage of public execution.

On a hunt for Saraphina, the maid happened upon a completely different scene. It was left vacant of life but for one. A bit of a trouble maker and someone she didn’t necessarily expect. But it brought a bit of muse to her as the scent of blood from the massacre she was viewing in this moment hit her nose. It gave her a sense of an adrenaline rush almost, but instead she quelled it and remained quiet. Next to her was a stand that had previously sold drinks, but now was a vacant place where they simply stored drinks and empty cups. Reaching over, Sanguine grabbed the largest cup she could which happened to have the words “BIG GULP” printed on the side and a straw. One hand began to swirl around in the air and the blood about and all around, even on the clown would be pulled towards her, filling her rather large drink and then placing the straw inside, she lifted the cup into the air with a smile. ”Cheers, Master Jester!” She had toasted him on his work before lowering the cup, taking a rather long sip from the cup of blood. ”Mmm.. Freshly spilled blood truly is the best, wouldn’t you agree, sir?” She asked, calmly walking past the scene of horror movie come to life, holding out her “drink”. ”Would you be interested in a sip? Or perhaps your own?” Unaware entirely not everyone had this appetite for the crimson fluid as she had, she still kindly offered it to him like a small child offering a cup of cold lemonade on a hot day, smiling politely as she did so.

Post by Jester 13th October 2019, 8:52 am

"PLEASE STOP, PLEASE NO, I DON'T WANT TO DIE!" The erratic scream of the woman beneath him did not reach the clown's ears. His eyes were wide, like saucers, staring blankly ahead. His face contorted into a smile like no other, stretching his face almost unnaturally as though it was made of rubber. His breathing erratic, almost like a repetitive wheeze that escaped him, he reached down. In this state, Jester did not use his magic, in fact, he often forgot he even had it. He forgot, who he was, where he was. He just wanted to destroy.. all of it, everything. And so as he pinned the woman to the ground, he would raise his blood-stained fists, before pummeling them down into her face. Endlessly smashing them into her with no restraint.

    Smash, Crunch, Crash.

Into her flesh, breaking skin, tearing muscles, cracking bone. Until there was little of a face left to look at, the once screaming woman dead beneath him. He lifted off of her, his crazed eyes moving to the next victim. And one by one, this is what he did, grabbing everyone and anyone he could. Not allowing them to flee, until there was nothing else. Just the clown on his knees, wheezing loudly, his chest rising and falling as an eccentric pace.

He couldn't hear what she said, he couldn't make sense of it. But the maid's words drew his gaze to her. Flesh. A woman. A living woman, something he hadn't killed. Slowly he rose, his crazed expression turning to her, his fingers flexing in preparation for his next kill. He moved in swiftly, reaching for her chain to yank her towards him and to her inevitable death. Except for the minute he gripped the chain, he froze. Pain shot into his head, causing him to drop it suddenly and clutch his skull, shrieking uncontrollably.

Pathethic, so crazed you would forget the game. Control yourself you buffoon, before you ruin everything.

More pain shot through the clown's mind, causing his eyes to roll back, and he shrieked louder. He folded to the ground once more. The shrieking dying down, he began to speak, babbling incessantly. "Pebble... where are you pebble? Pebble did you go? I need you peb- NO! Pebble is no good...pebble is gone. Gone, gone, gone, gone, gone, gone ,GONE, GONE, GONE, GONE, GONE!!" The rambling went on, repeating the word endlessly, like a broken record stuck on repeat, getting louder. Until finally, he stopped. "No... I have Queenie now... Queenie.... Queenie....WHERE IS MY QUEENIE, QUEENIE, QUEENIE!!!" He lifted his face to the sky, roaring her name. Fighting the urge to kill more, he had to stop, stop, stop. No more. No more killing. Calm, calm is what he needed. Queenie. His Queenie. She would help, where was she... where was his queenie...

The maid watched on in some silence as had been watching Jester at work. The previously whimsical and carefree male had been crudely pounding and destroying the skull of a woman who she could hear from a distance screeching for her life. Begging was for those who didn’t sound like they were in such a panicked state of mind that they didn’t know how to sound like a rational person. Instead, the maid simply gathered her drink together while he had been working out some repressed trauma or something of the sort. Not knowing him at all only made this harder for her to really work with, but she had been unphased by the scene he created.

For someone whom had no memories or really much of a palette for likes or dislikes, it was easy to her to be accustomed to scenes much like this. Sanguine simply strolled through, no care in the world when she had approached him and offered some of her drink. His first reaction had been to snatch her up by the chain of her collar and yank her forward. Making no effort to do a single thing, she was ready for anything really. If she had to restrain him until Saraphina arrived, she would do her best, but she believed in him. And yet, during it all in the silence of the moment, she lifted her cup and shook it, making the liquid awash and splash about inside. ”It’s boneless~” She mused, just trying to lighten the mood a little while she smiled toward him.

P-Pebble? Who the hell was pebble and why was he so fixated on this person all of a sudden? Was it even a person? Did he just have a strange rock fetish and pebble was just his favorite? Maybe he thought someone stole it and his Hope was that he could kill everyone and search them. It wasn’t until he finally stopped and turned his eyes onto the name Queenie. That she picked up on. Pebble was someone he also nicknamed like he had the maid herself, Birch, and Saraphina herself. But now Jester was becoming erratic. The more he began to look around and call for Sara, the louder he got. Until the point he was now screaming in Sanguines face.

    ”Get a hold of yourself!”

The maid would deliver a harsh, sudden slap across his face. She had stared daggers into his eyes as she had watched his reaction. Now though. Now she had to follow up. The rather soft spoken, kind maid would grip up her Guildmate by his shirt, lifting him up off of the ground slightly. Her other arm quickly let go of her cup that was quickly picked up by a small part of her hair and kept safe for later consumption. ”What are you babbling on about? If you want the queen so much, screaming out like a lost child will get you nowhere!” Just like that, she would let her grip go and let him drop onto his feet. Hoping if anything, the slap more than anything would have been jarring enough to snap him out of it.

Suddenly, a voice called out from a small bit away. A plain clothed person who arrogantly approached the area. ”You there! Under authorities of the Rune Knights, you’re both under arres-” He was halted as white hair wrapped around his mouth and neck, constricting tightly and pulling him up into the air. The maid simply glared on at the intruding person before more of her hair had wrapped around his shoulders, both of his upper thighs, and in one twisting pull, ripped his body in half. As his blood and even various parts spilled onto the floor, the locks of hair threw the two halves aside in no care where before retracting themselves back to their host. ”Splits ends. A girl’s worst nightmare~” She giggled, giving a wink to the Jester as she hoped he was simply watching if anything. Lastly, she simply took the cup from her own hair and took a sip, casually acting as though nothing happened.

    The White Queen
Saraphina wasn’t fully watching where she was running, and just quickly darted herself around corners, trying to get out any which way she could while following these paths. They weren’t helping her panicked state at all. She eventually found herself crashing into the back of someone, not realizing who it was till they spoke. She looked up to him for a moment before her bottom lip quivered and she quickly hugged him. She was still trembling as she had her eyes closed tight. She was quiet for a moment. She was embarrassed. Slowly she pulled herself from Birch, sniffling some before she noticed a bit of snot on him. Twiddling her fingers, she glanced down at her feet.

Did she want to make something up? Or did she want to tell someone the truth? She honestly didn’t know… But she regretted not bringing her maid with her since she was alone before and had this little meltdown or whatever one wants to call it. She wasn’t too sure exactly since it had been a while since she was scared like so. “I… I, erm… I was afraid of being alone…” She confessed after a minute of fighting with herself, looking up to Birch again. She still had tears in her eyes. She quickly looked away as her started pouting at herself. She was supposed to be this strong queen. That’s what she built herself up as! Jester helped too, and founding this guild too! But here she was, acting scared and small… in front of a butler no less! For shame! He’d go back to looking grumpy at her since everything she seemed to do made him grumpy, and she’d have to suffer with his grumpy look. If only he could smile at her more. She’d enjoy it if he did…

She was about to say something when she heard a shriek a decent distance away from where she and Birch were. Then she heard Jesters voice calling for her. She opened her mouth to try to shout to him, but no noise came out, which she quickly began biting her lip as she worriedly started to look over in the direction of her Jester. She realized that if she had gone after him, she’d be alone again. She didn’t want to be alone. Hanging her head for a moment, she took a deep breath before grabbing onto Birch’s arm and looking up at him seriously. “Help me get out of this maze, please?!” She begs him, gripping his arm a bit harder now. She really didn’t want to take ‘no’ for an answer here. It would practically be the end of her! With a simple growl, and before Birch could give her a proper answer, she gripped his arm more and quickly started dragging him now. She wouldn’t be leaving alone. He’d have to help her now. Unless he wanted her to be a sobbing mess snotting all over him more. She was still trying to pretend she didn’t see the snot she left on him.

What the bewilderment did for his mood was quickly undone when she hugged him. At first, his arms remained hovering to each side of him, unsure what to do with them before he dropped them limply at his side in resignation for a few moments. Then he brought his hands up to place on the upper parts of her arms in preparation to guide her away from him as soon as Saraphina presented the opportunity by loosening her grip around his torso. At last, she did. She pulled her face back, granting him a window to apply some pressure backward so she couldn't latch on again. This maneuver faltered at first, though, once he noticed in horror the shiny snot spot on his black vest. Even as she spoke, his sharp eyes remained on the sullied spot in dismay. Brows twitching and a vein pulsing in his temple, it was all he could do to simply create some distance between them and not violently toss her into the hay wall of the maze and take off. Really, was she some sort of child? Getting scared of being alone in a harmless festival maze and crying enough to rub mucus on his perfectly pressed, pristine clothes? Disgusting...

With the grumpy look she loved so much predictably back in place, he had half a mind to go ahead and leave her here to snot on her own clothes when he heard the same shrieks she did. Then he heard the voice of the one person on this earth he came close to hating as much as his arch-nemesis, which only fueled his growing need to escape before she-- sigh. Before she did that. Now she had a hold of his arm, asking for help. Birch didn't want to help her. He wanted to tell her no. But she was Saraphina. The self-proclaimed Queen. She threw the most horrible tantrums when she was told no, which would probably only make his life harder and grosser. If he declined, would she attack him, or just rub her snotty face all over him some more? Still, he was tempted to find out if just maybe she'd run off to her jester without him when he felt her vice-like grip on his arm. Oh, so in the end, he'd not get the luxury of consideration. Birch was jerked along like one of her servants. "Fine, fine," he relented with a heavy sigh, stepping up his pace so she'd stop wrinkling his sleeve with all the dragging. He wrestled the limb free but instead offered her his gloved hand to hold, to make it easier on both of them to get out of here as quickly as possible. Easier for him so she wouldn't get lost and easier for her so she'd have some sort of much-needed security until they gained their freedom.

He was very good at mazes, so it'd be no time at all before they'd come out the exit with the rest of the festival immediately in sight...what was left of it, anyway.

    The slap across the face ceased his screams. His eyes darkened, focusing on the maid who was shouting at him. She had touched him, this vermin touched him. No. No. No. That couldn't be permitted, not at all. His arm shot forward grabbing her by the throat, he began to squeeze. Wheezing as he tightened in grip to vice-like levels, wanting to choke the life out of the vermin beneath his fingers. And then a voice would ring out, a familiar title cast out catching the attention of the crazed man. And then suddenly, his grip on the girl would release. He would turn walking away from her with disinterest. His figure would tremble, shaking tremendous as dark magic began to emanate from his form. He shook so fast, he was practically vibrating with immense power. An incredibly, dark and lethal energy pouring from his power, a new power one that was more terrifying than anything the clown had embodied prior;

    Death, itself.

As the vibrations settled, the man that would be Jester stood there, slightly different from before. His demeanour was significantly altered from what it had been moments ago; calm, relaxed, and almost cold. A Rune Knight ran over to him, grabbing his arm. "Ah, please forgive me. I should have a warning you not to touch me in this state." The officer looked at him confused, his eyes widening suddenly as he began to cough. Blood would suddenly pour from his nose and mouth, flowing to great excess. To the point where he was choking on it, after a moment he would crumple to the ground dead. "I see, You were a manipulator, not a pleasant to sin to die for. Alas, there is worse." He remarked casually, his voice didn't even sound like the clown anymore. It was deeper, huskier than before, his tone slightly defeatist. He paid little attention to the maid, instead, he would take his leave. Moving to get away from her, he knew full well what would happen if she got close to him whilst in this state. She would die a most horrific death.

"Tell the one he...I call Queenie, I shall return in due time." He told her, before vanishing entirely. Shifting from the dimension he had been standing into the one manifested by his host. He moved across the room, to the draws by his bedside where he kept his spare clothes. The man peeled away from his bloodstained clothes, changing into striped pyjamas. For when the vessel awoke, he would need to feel normal if he was going to recover from his mental attack. Once changed he moved towards the bed, sitting himself down. He remained there for a moment in silence, before sighing. "Time for you to return sir" He remarked softly, lying back onto the bed. His body would begin to vibrate once more, his limbs seizing as he underwent the change. A few minutes later, Jester returned to his normal deranged self.

And just like that, Nox was gone once more.
