    Foreboding Shadows Efcc691e6116f33019715dc591ff844e

Standing at the edge of the Lycan Woods was a rather desolate place, a partially barren land with dried brown grass laying all around. Nothing really lived here, sure a lost tree here and there separated from the forest but besides that, nothing. In the far distant some vague silhouette could be seen. A construction of some sorts, a forgotten remnant from a time long passed no one even remembers.
On the edge of the woods was also laying some forgotten ruin. A mere skeleton of a building, with nothing more than a few pillars left standing. Along some of the pillars, those who were closest to the woods, ivy had found it's way up and grew even along some of the arcs. And among those ruins there was one particular oddity, waiting in the dark corners. With only his golden eyes piercing through the darkness itself.

Why would it that someone would actually come to such a barren world such as this, these lands weren't particularly known for their hospitality. In fact Dahau was certain that rarely anyone travels in these lands. Unless something forced them to. The only people Dahau could even imagine traveling to such cursed lands were criminals, renegades. The few bad people who couldn't find a home among the guildless, the dark mages or the general thugs. People who simply didn't want to be found.
In this case Dahau wanted to be found, he was waiting for a specific someone to find him here in these forgotten lands. He did after all left an invitation, a rather ominous one he had to admit that. But sometimes secrecy was of the utmost importance because you never know which prying ears were listening.

It wasn't before long, that Dahau heard the rustling of the grass. Someone... something was approaching. He stepped out of the shadows and into the dim moonlight that only vaguely illuminated the area they were in. Showing a man clad in a battle armor with a long cloak dragging behind him. His hair was raven black, and you could easily tell that he was in his forties. Or at least that is how he appeared to be. But it wasn't his age or his attire that was the strangest thing about him, it was they he he felt. His energy, his aura, the magical presence that should be present in everyone, that wasn't in him. Or at least not able to be sensed by most others.

As Dahau had stepped forwards, he'd notice a silhouette appearing out of the shadows around the the ruins itself.

'I'm glad to see you have taken up on my invitation...' he only said

Diseased and scrawny avians traveled by the slaughter with bodies of dusk. Their squawking overfilled the air like the taunting cackle of hyena's before they indulged in fresh prey. The raven feathers fled their frames as the he birds flapped up and off the narrow and malnourished branches, as though making way for the sinister and quiet young woman. Cicadas hissed within the bark of withered trees and  dark snakes rustled away through the lifeless stiff leaves on the ground. Even a mage would only be able to traverse these woods with their whole being tensed up into what would feel like an internal dark hole of anxiety. --Except for Famine and the few other who nested themselves in desolate lands such as this. The Lycan woods were the abyss and limitlessness of one's fears, whatever they may be, as long as they were dark, morbid, and unsettling, they lived in these woods. These cursed woods that seemed to breathe as if it were alive with the feral yet vile beings that it inhabited.

Every time these woods ‘breathed’ Famine swore more of the haze rolling at her feet was created. This fog lingered a few feet off the forest floor causing a persons legs to almost disappear by how condensed it was. Contrasting the breathing haze was the bleeding black abyss which blotched out the sky above, the only indicator of life being the silver coin of the moon which was outlined by a magnificent but haunting violet tone tonight.

There came the subtle shifting of bramble and snapping of twigs beneath her bare heels as Famine traversed the woods. The hooded head of mud blonde hair wandered through the all seeing wilderness alone. Icy and malevolent sapphires were glued to the slip of paper stuck between her thumb and index finger. Famine of Basilisk Fang stepped the wilderness without an eye on the trail ahead of her as though she knew what the path in front of her already looked. Famines narrow blue eyes only lifted from the slip of paper and when she stepped  out of the tangle of trees and into the thinning clearing. It was there she saw a once grand structures ruins and aside the dilapidated pillars and the stranger stepped out from behind the fallen beams into her sight.

Strange… he’d almost caught her off guard. Famine usually could feel a person's presence around the corner, but Dahau failed to make a single blip on her radar. When the figure conclude he was the one who had indeed requested of her with the all to brief letter Famine let go of the parchment and allowed the breeze to sweep it away.

“What exactly have I been invited too?” Came the itching question. Famine had not the slightest inkling what this meeting entailed, it could easily be another one of the council’s set ups to get her thrown back in prison…. But she’d come regardless. Famine didn’t give up on opportunities so easily. Nothing came without risk, especially in the life she had made for herself and her guild.

Foreboding Shadows Empty Re: Foreboding Shadows

As the time slowly passed, the shrouded darkness of these woods start to creep up on him more and more. It was as if this forest was alive and his soul mission was to make even the darkest of mages feel out of place for once. With every passing second the mist started to get thicker and slowly started to roll into the small ruined area the enigmatic Savage was waiting. There was no sound, nothing whatsoever, not even a single nightly creature. Yet Dahau knew better, the reason why silence seemed to rule this place. He knew what feral beasts lurked in the shadows of the Lycan Woods and even he wouldn't test his own might against these wicked creatures.

Speaking about wicked, it seemed that his quest. A young looking woman slender and feminine, her face mostly covered by a hood and the surrounding shadows. Yet piercing through that shroud of blackness were two cobalt blue orbs, fixated on him. And while the strangers immediately asked him a question, Dahau could easily feel the fact that she was seizing him up.

'A fair question' he responded as he as well stepped out of the shadows with his cloak sweeping on the ground behind him. His face older than hers, mid forties if one would guess. His eyes a tad cold and his mouth curled up in a conceited smirk. 'But let's start with introducing myself, you've earned at least that much after I dragged you all the way out here. I am Dahau and you could say that I am like an emissary from a kindred guild... Savage Skull.'

This was half a lie, naturally, sure Dahau was part of Savage Skull but in all honesty he wasn't really here as a emissary bringing forth good will between the guild. Sure Savage Skull would surely benefit from a contract with Basilisk Fang or any other Dark Guild in Fiore for that matter. Not that it wasn't attempted before, there were predecessors who tried to ally themselves with other guilds but none ever really succeeded. Why? well the answer to that question was simple. They were Dark Guilds, and ultimately only served their own agenda. However the times were changing and maybe the old ways didn't work anymore in this world. New independent guilds popped up like weeds, some legal guilds lost their way and fell into depravity. Even threats from outside Fiore started to become more real with every passing day. So maybe it wasn't such a bad idea to rehash to old alliances and try to forge new ones along the way.

Yet that was to be a topic for another day, now Dahau was here for Savage Skull only. The power that dwelled underneath the hall, it needed to be reactivated again. Right now it is slumbering, waiting to be awoken once again, but for that one more link needed to be destroyed. And the mistress of Basilisk Fang might just be the only person who could hand over the very key.

Famine’s piercing blues blinked about the man's frame. One could easily tell that she was sizing him up physically, maybe to try to make up for the lack of a magic aura. Famine thought he either didn’t have the ability to use magic, which was the most detesting of the two options, or he’d been trained to hide the levels of mana within him. In the end, she figured she couldn’t judge this book by it’s cover in terms of strength under or overestimating him could be dangerous. She’d seen it happen to her too many times before. Famine knew she would have to be careful here.

The maiden in black sighed, ruffling her bangs in the process. She gave an exhausted roll of her azure orbs and folded her tattooed arms in front of her chest as she mustered the energy to listen to Dahau’s answer it was a long journey to say the very least of it. Her body language only opened back up when he took another step away from the mass of shadows cast by the bramble of twiggy trees behind him and the dark of the night.

Her head tilted as the voice fled his lips from under the cloak, a brown braid shifting to her left as it adjusted to the shift.. She batted her lashes when he drew silent again, as though waiting for more but not another word came. Though she tried to hide it, she was already a little frustrated. Leaving Mt. Hakobe was not something she did often anymore… and she’d followed this note on pure chance…. She just wanted to know why she was here.

Another sigh pursed from her frowning lip “Savage skull,” She tasted the name of the guild in her mouth with a mutter, tossing a look between the shattered marble pillar beside her to the man. At least they were on the same side of the spectrum, or so that appeared, Famine wouldn’t jump to a conclusion yet but if she were she guessed this was about their work in the illegal world.

She had heard many things of the savages, that many were a little unhinged, sure, but that they also had a knack for breaking the law and taking out guilds which was something the seer could go for.

Famine  thought to make herself comfortable. Her pale hands fell back on the pillar on either side of herself as she sat down against the crooked beam on the forest ground. “But you still have not answered my question, Dahau,” Famine started, testing his name so to make sure it would be one she remembered. “What do you want with me. Why am I here?” She asked again, albeit more sternly than before. She waited for him to start explaining what this was about. Famine had done a relatively good job staying out of the savages ways… She actually couldn’t recall seeing once since before her illegal mage days. How could she have wound up on the radar. Maybe this was to do with her guild.
