    ~ Just Relax... ~
in you and i, there's a new land

A cool breeze drifted across the land and greenery of Solemn Park, causing each and every aspect from the shifting of the blades of grass to the leaves in the trees to all perform one great, calming melody. Brushing against one another in the gentle wind, it was a sign that the day was ending and the weather was changing, it steadily growing colder as the night began to arrive slowly. The autumn season was nearly upon the land of Fiore, along with the excitement of holidays and events that caused an excitement among the folks that one could only see around this time of the year; especially in the winter.

It was times like these where Euphemia found herself relaxing the most before she found herself performing day after day for small crowds where she could, as that was when people were out in the streets the most... but also where the crowds were biggest. This time of year would always prove to be the hardest due to her stage fright whenever she performed for them. Sometimes she would find herself successful in getting through her fear, albeit by a thread. And other times she would create an ending of her own accord that would roughly transition to the end of the performance abruptly, making quite an embarrassing example of herself.

Oh, how she dreaded to think of herself having to resort to that again this year...

Instead, the young woman just kept herself sat underneath the protective shading of one of the many trees in Solemn Park while she just stared at the fountain a few yards away. The dress she wore today was one that was a very light shade of pink, and she kept her violin case right on her lap while observing the pattern the water fountain would follow minute after minute, the color from the lighting at the bottom never being the same. Strands of blonde hair tickled her pale skin as it followed the direction the breeze would blow, her pair of blue eyes fixated on the fountain water's movements.

And all the while Euphemia listened to the sound the grass and the leaves created in unison, unaware of the people passing by or of the time of the day. She was completely relaxed... Completely lost in her own unique form of reality.

SOME HORIZONS ARE JUST CLOSER, DON'T YOU THINK?

It was that sort of day, the kind that'd soothe a rhythmic trance into your old bones, the kind of morning where the children were smiling and the flowers were fresh and everything was part of a luminescent picture book. But there had been one slightly off figure in that ideal image that had been Solemn Park. It was man, or a boy, rather, with a mop of blonde hair and a white hood thrown softly against his shoulders. His was the form of uncertainty and doubt, a forlorn expression adorning his sharp features. He had been traversing random paths with no clear objective for a good while now, and he'd only recently began glancing back at the sky above him after eons of staring down at the shadows lining his shoes, and though his eyes were hazy and unfocused, the cheery blue pigment was reflected clearly in the glass that made his irises. And as that part of the world continued to revolve around the soft-shouldered figure, the worlds inside him ceased indefinitely, and all there was a hole he desperately wanted to fill with something, anything.

And he'd been here, once, twice, and now he finds himself back again. But now it wasn't just Talonia or the musings of a dead man or the urge to fulfill a thirst to roam, like he always did. Instead, it was just him and his memories and the sepia filter that came with the autumn breeze, dyeing his everything with a subtle melancholic undertone.

"...It's been so long." he whispered, his figure wavering with the winds as they billowed over softly, "Am I really going to find my way home, I wonder..."

It was unavoidable then to find his heart elsewhere regardless if the morning was a quaint and pleasant one. Silly as it was to consider, the swordsman would come to terms with his petty homesickness like he was six, succumbing to the longing that came with it. His actions were uncharacteristically sluggish under the sunlight, which was unbecoming for his regular demeanor when it came to openly warm days where the adventure was bright and beckoning. And though he'd reason out that he might've just woke up on the wrong side of the bed earlier that day, he couldn't possibly escape his currently disorientated state even if he tried. Never mind the fact that the boy resulted to feigning ignorance, it was the way his shoulders heaved as he sighed that betrayed the mellow day's temperament.

With a little nudge, he'd force himself to lift an arm as he shuffled through his breast pocket, fishing out an old, crumbly photograph of a golden-haired boy being cradled in an elderly man's arm, a pair of twins standing on each end as their braids shone with the sheen of an exquisite chocolate color. Realizing that the boy, who had been him at age three, was the one who stood out the most, Terith began to believe that it was the same circumstance from back then. He obviously didn't belong in that brightly lit scene, where his morality issues were the fan to a relentless flame. And yet, he couldn't find it himself to turn around and leave, as if there were a drawing presence within the park, and he'd have to find it regardless of what he'd been going through.

The swordsman dug a frown into the curve of his jaw, shoving his hands down his empty pockets before continuing, walking down the left portion of the park with little care for the things around him. There, the waters from the fountain seemed to all but glisten in his eyes, and with long, lunging steps, he'd approach it and make use of a vacant spot on its rim to seat himself comfortably. He later assumed a bent stance as he pressed a pair of pale white knuckles to his temple, breathing in and out, gently, as if to quell the negative forces that began working around him.

That's right. It had been that sort of the day, where it was his father's death anniversary and he wanted nothing more to be back home to comfort his sisters as they wept at his grave. But with no means of reaching that world, the world that he once knew suddenly started to cease.

    ~ Just Relax... ~
in you and i, there's a new land

It was almost then that the young adult had nearly fallen asleep in the peaceful trance the waterfall had fixated her in, dragging her deeper and deeper into a realm of peaceful slumber. The warmth of the rays from twilight had covered her small figure in a blanket of warmth, her eyes veiled with exhaustion and fatigue as the were being pulled down ever-so-slowly. In the gentle fuzz of her vision was the image of what she had glued into her mind go undisturbed for a few short moments before something moved.

    Something new.

With a soft sound escaping her parted, pink lips did the young woman slowly strengthen herself to awaken. Strands of blonde hair shifted and curled in the wind that was blowing to the east, providing a gentle comfort and change of pace to the once welcoming warmth from the setting sun beyond. Her pair of vibrant, blue eyes began to focus back into the world to find a lone, hooded figure sitting down the rim located in the fountain's wake. The musician began to grow curious on who this mysterious stranger could be as her eyes began to grow wide, for he appeared out of the ordinary and yet blended in all at once. 'Twas quite a strange peculiar air emitting from his form, and yet a sad one all at once.

His form was downcast, sluggish, almost as if his posture was curling up into a ball that he wanted to never leave while white knuckles supported themselves to his temple...

    He seemed so...

"Sad...", she gently muttered softly to herself.

The young woman couldn't help but arise to her own feet with her violin case in her grasp. She felt compelled to help this stranger even if she didn't know him for even a second. She couldn't ignore the way he was keeping himself, the way he was behaving, the way his heart seemed to emit such a tune and rhythm of sorrow and heartache... It was something that she - both as a musician and human being - couldn't ignore. It was with a gentle smile and soft breath she began to make her way to the beauty of the fountain before her, and into the bubble of consciousness that would be the stranger's world.

Softly, Euphemia spoke as she eventually stopped right along the rim of the fountain as water spurt upwards in its usual rhythmic pattern. Her pair of blue orbs gazed upon the trickles of droplets that danced out into the wind, and back into the water while displaying the glistening hues of the world around them with each movement. It was environments like these that were easy on the mind, the body, the soul...

    And the heart.

"Excuse me, sir... If I may be so bold... Is this seat taken?"

She would then glance upon the stranger with her eyes and smile softly, in hopes that maybe she could at least learn their name... and bring a smile to their face with time.
