    The Hunt {Job} - Page 2 Empty Re: The Hunt {Job}

    Post by Norva Odenias Wed 21 Sep - 18:04

    It was difficult to sleep in the hut that night, considering the unusual conditions for Norva. He had not visited any land that both had such freezing temperatures and such desperately low resources. Not only that, but his metal armor seemed to only make things colder for the traveling hit-man. Norva didn't dream that night; His body was too focused on keeping warm and his mind was not diving into his memories. Every part of his life was sheltered and warm, the exact opposite of what he was experiencing right now in Iceberg. There was no reason for his mind to pull anything from his previous experiences. Norva was entirely new to everything that was happening.

    Despite the below-freezing climate, hefty blankets and a campfire helped Norva find some rest for the night. At the time he fell asleep, it was about 9:00 at night and the sun had just rested behind the horizon. Norva slept a solid 10 hours, finally opening his eyes well after the sun found its way over the mountains again.

    He groggily opened his eyes, the green tint of his helmet lens painting the fabric of the hut wall a dark grey color. Norva had not realized it earlier, but the hut walls were actually covered with rugs made of rare animals furs. The only reason they were rare however, was because they were summer coats. Their colors were a deep red, obviously from foxes and light colored bears. There was no way that all the other huts would have enough summer season fur for that, so Norva guessed that it was a part of showing the elder's rank in the village.

    Once he was fully awake, Norva shifted a little and pulled the blanket down, careful not to touch it to the fire. With a quick stretch and a yawn, he got up from his sitting position and stood up. By the looks of it, the elder was already up, but she was nowhere in the hut. Norva checked for all of his supplies. Everything was there, including the new coat he was given. He took a closer look at it.

    The coat was made out of thick bear hide, the fur full and light all along the inside. It was trimmed and brushed on the inside. Norva reckoned that had he not been wearing his armor, the coat would feel extremely soft and comfortable. Leather straps around the waistline and the sleeves tightened them and kept snow from getting inside, while colorful dyed ties and straps flowed down the length of the coat and its sleeves. The hood itself was created with a different layer, a fur lining creating a large collar outside of it. If the hood wasn't up, then the
    collar itself would protect the wearer's face from cold winds.

    Norva noticed the temperature once again and slipped the coat on over his metal armor. He tied up the leather belt at his waist then tightened the rest of the buckles up the center of the coat. Definitely a nice coat. However, it wouldn't fair well in the rain unless a water resistant layer was added over the top. Perhaps he could to that once he got back. After all, a coat like the one he had on him right now was worth quite the sum of money. Norva would have to thank the elder again for his gift.

    However, he'd have to find the elder to do that. Scooting away anything flammable from the fire in the center of the hut and grabbing his own equipment, Norva made his way out of the hut. The village seemed very lively today, everybody chatting among others. Perhaps the hunting really did make a large change. Very different from when he first arrived at the village, people were smiling and slightly jumpy. Norva hoped that his efforts did that.

    Norva followed the direction of the crowds, making his way to what seemed like the town hall. It was there that many people were gathered together. The doors were closed, probably to keep the warmth in, but Norva could sense the masses of people in there. He opened the door and quickly slipped in side to see a few big figures talking to the villagers. One of the figures up there was the elder that gave Norva a place to rest his head for the night. Her eyes moved to him. The elder gave a small smile and nodded her head. Norva bowed his head, which he hoped she could see from the other side of the masses. With that final notion, Norva disappeared with a quiet green flash.
