Twisted Ice and Magic, an Island of Icy Terror

Wolfe took a look around as he had just finished with the group of 3 figures. He couldn't see any others anywhere at all, and as he thought about it, those 3 had been the first ones in a little while now. As he got closer either he was dead wrong and they became more sparse, or maybe he had taken out enough of them that it was running out of figures to throw at him.

Wolfe didn't care one way or the other to be honest. At this point he was just going to enjoy this moment of silence.

Wolfe sat down and just started to take deep breathes of the cold air as he tried to calm down and give his body a chance to rest up. He couldn't take bolt form for right now, but he needed to if he intended to get anywhere fast, or if he needed to retreat.

Wolfe sat around for about 20 minutes before he stood up and decided to just walk for a little while. After about 10 minutes of walking he saw as a new figure erupted from the ground in front of him. She went to raise her hand and Wolfe didn't even bother to try and dodge, and a few second later a blast of water hit him in the chest. Wolfe just walked right thought it and closed the distance between them. He then swung forward with a right hook not even bothering to break his stride and the figure and cause it to shatter everywhere.

Wolfe just continued walking not even bothering to try and look back. At this point he was just going to walk it off till he was ready to really let loose. He couldn't tell why, but he had a feeling deep in his gut like the worst was yet to come.

Wolfe felt as his rage finally left him and his body went into shut down mode. Despite his power, this was something he couldn't help. It wasn't as bad as it used to be, and he figured as soon as he could figure out the secrets of what his father had done to him. If he could, then he could stop this from happening, and also maybe stop himself from dying. However, it seemed like a pipe dream at this stage. He hadn't found anyone that could help him and he only had about a year and a half left to live, and he wasn't any closer to finding a way to fix it.

Wolfe shook it off and dragged himself out of his own head. He knew that was a dark place and he knew that if he let it happen he would just fall into a dark despair and then he was doomed for sure. So far he had made this far on will power and hate, and he would keep it that way till the last day if he had to.

instead Wolfe focused his attention to what was around him. Magic in its both most complex and most basic concept was living, and this place was an example of that. Somewhere here that concept was both beautiful and deadly obvious. Wolf e had been working a lot with archive magic recently and he had notice a ghost in the system. This led him to believe that archive it altered right and under the right conditions could be used to create an AI, and maybe somewhere on this island was the key to not only make it happen, but maybe make it more.

Wolfe pondered as he walked along the icy landscape. The snow blowing by was the only sound that could be heard.

As Wolfe continued along the weather got a little harsher and the landscape was starting to look more chaotic. There were breaks in the ice and hue shards where point out of the ground, and it wasn't level anymore with random drops and huge crevasses everywhere. Luckily Wolfe had been taking it easy for a little over and hour now and was back to him normal self. He could use his rage yet, but everything else seemed ready to go. He took his bolt form and started to just arc around from spot to spot as he made his way to the center.

It didn't take him too long to make it to the center and what he saw there was something he would never  forgot for the rest of his life. It was blizzard of pure magic swirling around like a small tornado, and in the center he could see what almost looking like a large orb with tiny shards of ice forming then shattering off of it. AS Wolfe looked at he he saw what it meant to see true living magic. As he stared into it he could swear he saw as the ice swirling around in it almost seemed to form the shape of a woman, but then the it was gone as quick as it was there. Either he was seeing things or maybe when the mage who made this forged it had this woman on his mind. He then remembered something on the flier about the mage being distressed or something, and if there was a woman involved it made a lot more sense.

Wolfe walked up and just stared in awe at what he was seeing. This was everything he could have hoped, and just seeing this gave him ideas. It proved magic could live without a host and more then that, it could create.

Wolfe began to look around as he was walking and he noticed something on the ground as he moved. It looked like tiny crystals, but were a little bit bigger then the size of one's hand. Wolfe bent over and took a closer look at them, and as he did he saw they were almost diamond shaped. As he peered into one he became lost in what he saw. It looked like the ice inside of the crystal was moving and reshaping. Wolfe gasped as he he realized that this must be products of the larger crystal. Each of them was a piece of living magic and had separated from the main crystal.... but the question was why?

Wolfe began looking around even more and noticed more of them but they were all smaller and most of them seemed to have cracks in them. He was more then confused, as this made no sense. Why were some smaller then others and why the cracks. Wolfe turned to look back at the largest one and reached out to pick it up. As his finger touched it....

Wolfe felt an intense feeling of cold wash over him and he saw it... er rather her....

Wolfe saw a woman, not just a woman, but THE woman. The one every figure had shared an image with, but this was crystal clear and he could see her in perfect form.

However, as fast as he had been washed over by the feeling and the image it was gone and he was left holding the crystal in his hand. Then it hit him. These orbs were linked to each of the figures on the island.... and each of the cracked ones must be one of the ones that was destroyed. This was insane to say the least, and Wolfe wasn't even sure where to start at this point.

Wolfe shook it off, as this was way above his "pay grade" so to say. However, there were parts of the book that made more sense now, and with this new view on it maybe he could make a new break through on the AI. This gave him a whole new world of ideas. That could wait for now. First he needed to get out of here and make it home. He wasn't quite ready to be able to bolt home so needed to wait a little longer before he would do that, but for now he felt like staying here could be dangerous, as exposure to magic this pure could have bad effects on anyone, and for him maybe even worse. He wasn't sure if it was his imagination or not but he felt as if the lacrimas were starting to cause his joints to ache.

Wolfe turned to walk away before he realized he was still holding the crystal. He was about to throw it down but he couldn't do it. In his gut he got the feeling like taking it was a bad idea, but it was too valuable to him and all the things he could do with it. Wolfe held it up to get a better look at it and tried to decide, but he knew the answer before he even tried to think it over. It was never a question, it was coming with him. No matter the cost.

Wolfe placed the crystal in his small bag and turned to leave. As he walked over to the end of the area hs turned his head back and got one more really good look in before he turned into a bolt and started arcing his way through the treacherous area round center on his way out.

Wolfe took a little bit but he managed to get out of the center area and away from the treacherous area. Wolfe once again needed to take a little more time to rest up before he could make the long trek back. So he took off on foot as he slowly made his way back towards the coast line. Since he had the time, he started to ponder ideas on how to use what he had see to help with the AI. As all the options went through his head he kept feeling this nagging feeling, like a presences that seemed to be there. However, each time he looked around he didn't see anyone of anything.

Wolfe just continued to walk along, but no matter how long he walked and tried to shake it he couldn't get the feeling to go away. He just kept feeling it sliver down his spine like a cold sensation. The problem was he couldn't tell if it was because of the crystal or maybe from his time near the pure magic. Either way he needed to throw this feeling off so he could focus on the task at hand which was getting out of here and getting home. Wolfe just shook off the feeling and pressed onward towards the coast area. It was the closest point fro this land mass to home, and because he didn't want to chance it, he was going to wait till he could take off from there.

As he walked along he felt it happen again and he once again shook it off. He didn't really care how he did it, as long as he made it home with the crystal. He decided that he needed to get to the coast faster. Once he was there he could just rest there. Wolfe too bolt form and hit the ground as he bolted towards the coast line. He knew that it shouldn't be long as long as nothing happened.

As Wolfe bolted along he saw it in the distance, a figure in the distance. It was the first one he had seen in a while to be honest. It was in the direct path to the coast and he did have the energy to try and avoid it so he decided to just deal with it. Wolfe jumped out of bolt form and hit the ground running. He could make it quicker, but he needed the power. Wolfe continued to make his dash towards the figure and as he closed the distance he could tell this one of the weakest versions of the figures, so this should be an easy picking for him.

He had fought enough of these now to know the routine. Ice spears? Check. Water blast? Check. Creating a pool of water? Check. This was just another push over fight, but that wasn't what bothered Wolfe. What did get to him was the fact that he had gone a pretty long time now without seeing one. Maybe the crystal drew it here. Either way he needed to just dispose of this one so he could move on. Wolfe had closed the gap by this point was right on the figure. He ducked as it went to shoot one more spell, but Wolfe was over this already and swung up his right hand and placed it in the figure's chin and like that it was over and once there was another pile of ice shards on the ground.

Wolfe took a step over the pile and continued on his way. He did give a though to yet another crystal cracking, and it did make him sad, but there was nothing he could do about it. Wolfe got the feeling he might run into a few more of them along the way, but he wasn't sure. Either way he was going to keep his eye open. He didn't need any of them getting the jump on him.

Wolfe decided to continue on foot to conserve energy since he figured he would run into more figures on his way back. Wolfe was making his way along for a while before he did in fact see another figure, and once again he lucked out and it was one of the weak ones. These were push overs for the most part, so he couldn't complain about them. They were basically just pests at this point, but it could be worse and he could be getting swarmed like before, so he basically he was pretty happy about it.

Wolfe just started dashing his way towards the figure just after it erupted from the ground. Wolfe didn't even both changing his course when the figure created a hammer and swung it at Wolfe. He just swung out his hand and back handed the hammer mid swing without even missing a beat. By this point he had closed the gap and was in swinging distance of the figure. Wolfe swung his right hand up for a decent uppercut to the figure's chin and watched as the head broke off and flew into the air. As he watched the head hit the ground a few feet away it shattered on impact, and the body followed shortly after. Wolfe just shook his head again as he picked back up on his journey for the coastline.

Wolfe was not that far away from the shattered remains when he was hit with the feeling once again, but it was stronger this time, and it was obvious that something was coming, and from his best guess it was coming soon. Really soon. He wasn't sure what it was, but either way he knew it wasn't going to be good. However, for now, Wolfe needed to focus so whatever it was, it didn't get the drop him.

Wolfe was really kicking into overdrive as he tried to make it to the beach before this bad feeling he was having would have a chance to become more then a feeling. He really needed to get out of here as soon as possible, but it seemed the island had other plans. This time he was stopped by one the stronger figures. Wolfe decided that he couldn't waste his time with this  one and as he ran he towards the figure he focused all his energy into his body and in mid stride a bolt of lightning bolt came crashing down from the sky and hit Wolfe causing arcs of lightning to erupt from all over his body. As he continued to close the distance he began dodging this way and that as the figure kept trying to hit him with different spells. At this point Wolfe had memorized every spell spell they used and their speed.

Wolfe ducked, dodged and made his way all the way to the figure. As he reached the figure he stopped dead only inches from the figure and threw himself into a back flip and as he did he kicked out his right leg and caught the figure with a flip kick to the chin. As Wolfe landed a foot or so away in the crouched position. He then stepped forward swing his right hand up and ended it with a well placed uppercut to rip the figure almost clear in half. The shards of the figure flew in every direction and then were gone.

Without even taking a second to look around, Wolfe was was again off and on his way. However, with every step he was once again getting washed over with the feeling of the impending threat that it was obvious was going to descend upon him. He he did know better it was almost like a player in a game knowing the boss was just ahead.

Wolfe was finally starting to see the end up the ice plains way ahead in the distance, but before he could get there, he was once again attacked by another figure from the ice. Wolfe took a deep breath as he tried to not let it get the best of him. He knew something big was coming, but in the meantime it seemed like they were intent on just throwing him cannon fodder to pass the time. Normally Wolfe would not let something like this bother him, but then again he didn't have the chance to really work with something like the crystal in his bag. He was almost like a kid that was looking forward to a new toy. All he could think of was what that crystal could unlock for him. It very well may hold the key to saving his life.

As the thought passed through him how these weren't even the power he sense but just time wasters when his salvation could be in his bag at this very moment it began to anger him. His rage started to manifest as lightning began to erupt like crazy from his body. If another living being was there t see this, they would have sworn they saw a demon in his eyes as he barreled down on this newest figure.

It was over in less then an instant and if you blinked you would of missed it. Wolfe closed thr distance so fast that the figure didn't even have time to get a full spell out and he ended the fight with a flying punch that shatter the figure into a fine mist of ice and he was already at a full run on his way again before the mist could even dissipate. He was't going to be slowed down by these flies buzzing around him anymore.

As Wolfe could see the beach in the distance he got the impression just maybe he might just beat this feeling of impending doom, and maybe he was just letting his mind get caught up in what he had seen and the power it held. To say the power he saw was impressive would be insulting to it. It was something only a few in their life might ever get to see. Most magic users were content with the idea that they knew and used magic. The truth of magic, and depths of what it was were lost on most. trying to look into the truth of magic was like trying to nail jello to a wall...Impossible. It would be easy to say that if someone spent their whole life searching and learn the truths of magic, they would die old and still not know them all. So many truths, and so many of them were based in concepts. Light... Dark.... who new the origin?

Wolfe was thinking a little too hard and almost took a shot to the face as from a magic from his side. Wolfe stopped mid step and slowly turned his face to look at the source of the shot. He turned to see a mid power figure and he didn't understand why the little pests kept coming out of the wood work. Wolfe turned his body and started at the figured. His rage was starting to get the better of him. He just took like 3 steps was already in the figure's face. He reached out and grabbed the figure's throat and crushed it's throat and broke the head off the figure. As the figure fell to pieces Wolfe turned and walked away back towards the beach again. He turned and stared on his way back towards the beach.

Since i have hit the post count and have rolled 31 times without a Boss, i am going to have the show up.

Wolfe finally reached the beach as he was totally over this crap by now. He could now leave, head home, and begin on working on the crystal and seeing what secrets it could unlock for him. Despite the fact that this place had pissed him off rightly, he had to admit, that it may have have been the most recently important thing he had done, and he had this strange feeling that there was more in his future then he could tell based on what he had seen and grabbed today. Wolfe took a second to gather himself and he went to take a step to head to the edge of the beach but his foot didn't move. He looked down and saw his feet were frozen to the ice like they had been before. However, this time he hadn't been day dreaming and didn't even see it happen, or when it cam from.

Before he could even think another thought about it he felt a shot to his back that ripped him from his frozen spot in the ice and sent him flying forward a few feet. As he hit the ground he tucked and rolled and spun his body so he ended up in a crouched position to see his attacker.

Wolfe knew exactly what he was looking at before he could even process it fully. This was it.... this was the big one, the one that was obviously attached to the crystal he was carrying. This figure was perfect. She was flawless and and was so much more powerful then any of the others. He had taken a shot in his back that was no less then equal to a B ranked wizard. This one was no joke. This was the ominous feeling he had been feeling washing over him this whole time.

Wolfe took off in a dash but kept low and tried to close the distance between him and the figure. However, it seemed the figure had other plans. It started to shoot shots at Wolfe from damn near every direction at the same time. Wolfe had to drop to all fours and roll to the side just to dodge the shots, and that was barely. Wolfe started to growl as his primal nature was starting to take over. He just tensed up as he waited for the next shot and he didn't have to wait long as he felt the ground below him start to erupt ice shards, but Wolfe reacted quickly and pushed up with his legs and threw his body into a hand stand just as blades of ice erupted from the ground where his body had been only a fraction of a second ago. Wolfe twisted he hand and threw himself to the side and hit the ground running. He finally was able to close the distance between him and the figure, and he took a swing at mid mass. The figure shifted itself, and managed to not get id mass but did take he shot into it's right arm and it shattered clear off.

Wolfe didn't get a chance to get another hit in as he was hit in the back by a blast of water. It sent him flying past the figure, but Wolfe was not going to let it get that distance again. He threw down his left hand and grabbed into the ground and clenched his fingers into the ice. He was throw into the ground instead of farther way. Wolf then reached out his right hand and clenched it into the ground as well and then used them to launch him at the figure. As he reached it, he twisted his left and threw it forward fingers out and as he hit it in the chest he drove his hand right into the figure. Wolfe threw back his right hand and drove it forward doing the same thing. Right after he drove his right hand into the figure he made a clawing motion as he tried to rip his hand out to the side. He heard a shattering noise as some of the figure gave way and he ripped a chunk of it's chest right off. Wolfe felt as a hammer slammed into his back but he refused to let go and he reached back, balled up his right hand and started to just punch the figure over and over, and with each hit the figure cracked more and more.

After a few hits Wolfe felt a blast of ice and water hit him in his right side. Wolfe was still hanging one by his left hand that was dug into the chest of the figure. As he was hit by the shot blood shot everywhere and some even shot up on the figure. Wolfe clenched his teeth, but he was going to end this now. Wolfe just just hitting it over and over as he was now watching chunks fly off the figure. It was almost down, but so was Wolfe. Wolfe saw a wall of ice spears heading at his side from the corner of his eye. It was now or never, and with every bit of his energy he threw one more punch. His fist broke right through the back of the figure and as he did the figure shattered into a million pieces. The spears shattered at the last second too and Wolfe just fell backwards to the ground.

Wolfe just laid their for a few minutes as he just enjoyed the feeling of the cold from the mist left behind from the shattered ice. He closed his eyes for a second and he was about to pass out when he heard a voice "damn you mortal... you surprise the hell out of me.... every time i think i have you pegged you show me you are more then i assumed... either way get up, and get out of here before more show up. You need to get home and fixed up.. i can give you some extra boost, but that wound is more then i can do for you, and your powers aren't that evolved yet. now get up." Wolfe opened his eyes to see Loki standing next to him. Wolfe just smirked as he reached out and the elemental hit him with a arc of lightning to give him enough boost to stand up and get out of here. Wolfe slowly stood up as he held his side to stop it from oozing more blood. Wolfe watched as Loki climbed onto his shoulder so he could give him more energy along the way. Wolfe took a deep breath and turned into a bolt and took to the air back towards home.
